NCRI –\u00a0Given the massive anti-regime protest movement that has taken over Iran in recent months and the mounting international pressure that has been largely instigated by the US, you\u2019d think that the mullahs might tone down their malign speech and actions.<\/p>\n
Yet still, the Iran-backed Houthi militants in Yemen launched seven ballistic missiles at Saudi Arabia this past weekend, killing at least one person and injuring two.<\/p>\n
It is likely that, as in previous attacks, Iran made and supplied these ballistic missiles in violation of two UN resolutions. The Houthis don\u2019t have the ability to make them and no other close allies to supply them.<\/p>\n
This has brought much negative international attention onto Iran, who more than likely ordered the attacks, and brought condemnation from the Middle East, the European Union, the United Nations and the United States.<\/p>\n
Even the UK, which seeks better trading relations with Iran, issued a joint statement of condemnation from Foreign Minister Boris Johnson and International Development Secretary Penny Mordaunt, which questioned why Iran was involving itself in the Yemeni Civil War at all.<\/p>\n
The statement also called on Iran to stop transferring weapons into Yemen, which of course will have no effect on the mullahs. Directly after this, the mullahs threatened to destroy Israel.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s not that no one in the Regime is attempting to save face. Many mullahs are voicing platitudes, which make it seem like they are willing to compromise, but they won\u2019t. Besides, what is the compromise between freedom and oppression for the Iranian people?<\/p>\n
It\u2019s not like Iran is unaware that the malign moves, like having a terrorist cell launch missiles against Saudi Arabia, will hurt its future survival. They\u2019ve been warned before about meddling in the Middle East and they know this jeopardises the future of the nuclear deal, which they desperately need in order to remain in power, but maybe they see the writing on the wall.<\/p>\n
The Iranian Regime knows that its time is running out.<\/p>\n
Afte all, the people revolting in the streets and calling for the heads of their oppressors; this protest movement has significantly weakened the Regime.<\/p>\n
