The Confirmation of Ebrahim Raisi’s Cabinet Has Turned into a Fiasco<\/h3>\n

The staged confirmation hearing in the regime’s parliament and the rushed process of getting approval for Ebrahim Raisi’s ministers has become another political embarrassment for the entire regime.<\/p>\n

Mousa Ghazanfarabadi: “It is becoming a routine that members of the parliament are welcoming the proposed ministers. This is against the dignity of the parliament, and it comes to mind that local and regional support is superseding the accuracy as well as reason and correctness of decision making of the parliamentarians.”<\/p>\n

Ebrahim Rezaei: “Unfortunately, in the past few days, people came here and spoke on behalf of the opponents who were not opposing the proposed ministers! Sometimes they just expressed their approval and praised or analyzed and raised questions. This is against the law and it creates doubts.”<\/p>\n

Salimi: “Outside this room, I saw some people starting to discuss some contradictory issues like everything is decided by the Supreme Leader, which should be noted that in some cases, especially when it comes to the ministers, he only steps in if he’s against someone. But the most important factor in this process is the introduction by the president and their own accountability”.<\/p>\n

Mahmoud Ahmadi Beighsh: “Why should the esteemed speaker of the parliament convene meetings and call people and dictate who should receive votes and who shouldn’t? Handpicking people and dictating how many ministers should be rejected and how many shouldn’t… I’m not okay with that.”<\/p>\n

Ahmad Amirabadi: “The fact that one of our friends comes here to say that the head of a branch is planning to have two, three, or four ministers rejected… Mr. Speaker, this is a creating discrepancy between the two branches, and this is not right. Sowing discord between the two branches will only hurt the people. I’m asking you, Mr. Ahmadi Beighesh, to consider national security matters while conducting in your speeches.”<\/p>\n
