On Tuesday 21st April 2018, the Media of Iran announced the regime\u2019s new plan to make the use of its domestic search engines compulsory for all government organisations.<\/p>\n
The Head of the Information and Communication Technology, Rasul Saraiyan, stated: \u201cwe are planning to make the use of domestic search engines compulsory for all government organisations, and are aiming to persuade the general public to utilize them too\u201d.<\/p>\n

Mohammad-Javad Azari Jahromi expanded more on this plan: \u201cOur plan is to introduce our domestic search engines to people and expand their application across the country; we are predicting a good progress within the next three months\u201d.
In terms of the functions and features of these engines, it must be noted that:
In a TV program that was aired on the regime\u2019s Channel 1 on 21st January 2018, the ministry of the Information and Communication Technology confirmed that the search results of these domestic engines are \u201cmanageable\u201d.<\/p>\n
The regime\u2019s \u201cmanageability\u201d of search results is its way of systematically censoring the information!<\/p>\n
After failing to filter Telegram or thoroughly block the anti-filters, the regime now sees its only solution in filtering Google and other search engines alike.<\/p>\n
The National Council of Resistance of Iran reveals censorship plans made by the regime\u2019s Revolutionary Guards Corps<\/strong><\/p>\n The regime\u2019s efforts in introducing domestic search engines and forcing people to utilise them, come with oppressive intentions. These engines enable the regime to spy on users\u2019 activities, which can consequently lead to them being traced or even arrested.<\/p>\n The regime\u2019s censorship activities have followed in various ways, from filtering Telegram and search engines, to imposing \u201cmalware\u201d on users, to blocking anti-filters; all of which are indicative of the regime\u2019s fear from the uprising of people.<\/p>\n In a conference held last January, the National Council of Resistance of Iran in Washington revealed the regime\u2019s plans in fighting and oppressing protestors via cyber proceedings. This news was disclosed through the international publishments of a book titled \u201cIran, Cyber Oppression, How the Revolutionary Guard Corps Use Cyber-Attacks to Protect Their Religious Tyranny\u201d.<\/p>\n This book, which has described the role of mobile phones and social messengers in the exchange of information between various parts of Iran as well as the organisation of protests, states that: \u201ccyber technology is a significant threat to the regime, because it enables people to form such strong rallies that the regime struggles to fight even with all its forces\u201d.<\/p>\n The book of \u201cIran\u2019s Cyber Oppression\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n In this book, the National Council of Resistance of Iran describes the different measures taken by the Revolutionary Guard Corps as well as the Ministry of Intelligence of the regime, towards the control of people especially the young class; via the development of mobile applications that are designed to spy on and control users, as well as the provision of shopping centres that support such applications. The book also adds: \u201cthe regime\u2019s cyber attacks must not be separated from its other actions such as severely oppressing people, issuing plans of terrorism, and preparing nuclear developments. The lack of reaction from other countries lets the regime get away with such things.
