German Finance Regulator Bans Bank Melli Iran From Issuing Loans<\/h3>\n

Reuters- German finance regulator BaFin said on Friday it had banned a Hamburg-based branch of Bank Melli Iran from issuing loans, citing infringement of transparency rules.<\/p>\n

Political Prisoners in Tehran Under Attack<\/h3>\n

This afternoon, Friday, October 8, a number of prisoners hired by the head of the Tehran Prison, while cooperating with the prison guards attacked and stabbed a number of political prisoners.<\/p>\n

The aggressors beat Akbar Bagheri, Pouya Ghobadi, and Akbar Shirazi with clubs and knives. Following this brutal attack, political prisoners Akbar Bagheri, Pouya Ghobadi, and Akbar Shirazi suffered serious injuries and were transferred to the medical center inside the prison.<\/p>\n

The prison guards, in collusion with the mercenary prisoners, deliberately closed the door of the DFAC, preventing the political prisoners to leave the place and saving their lives. After the attack, when the door was finally opened, the injured prisoners met the head of the prison, indicating his awareness about everything that took place.<\/p>\n

Akbar Bagheri was sentenced to 9 years in prison, charged with being a ‘member of the Mojahedin Khalq Organization’ as well as conducting ‘propaganda activity against the regime’. Pouya Ghobadi, 27, was born in Sanghar and had a bachelor’s degree in electricity. He also was charged with ‘membership in the Mojahedin Organization and propaganda against the regime’. Among those injured, Ismail Gerami, 67, is a retired protestor who was sentenced to five years in prison and 74 lashes. He has been imprisoned in the Tehran Prison since April 2014.<\/p>\n
