Former Official Warns of Tightening International Pressure<\/h3>\n

Referring to the remarks of the regime’s Minister of Oil, Mohammad Hadi Mousavi, a former assistant to the health minister said: “Oil bartering completes the chain of sanctions against Iran and with this plan, we inadvertently put ourselves under the ‘oil for food’ program.”<\/p>\n

Mousavi added: “Countries such as India, China, and Korea, which are our current oil customers, are not willing to barter oil with industrial items or capital, and they can only provide us with food or medicine. This is a plan that the West has been seeking to imply on Iran for many years … This poses a great danger to the security of the system.”<\/p>\n

In recent days, Javad Owji, the new oil minister of Ebrahim Raisi’s cabinet had mentioned the idea of bartering oil as a solution for getting paid for Iran’s oil exports.<\/p>\n

  • In Kerman, Southeastern Iran, scammed people who fell victim to ‘Kerman Khodro’ company, held a protest rally on Tuesday against the officials’ refusal to hear their complaints and take legal action. For nearly 4 years, two thousand people have been scammed by the car dealership owned by the corrupt Marashi family. These people have paid for the cars but the company has refused to deliver. The scammed owners of the cars have written letters to several major state institutions, like the supreme leader’s office as well as the judiciary.\u00a0 But due to the family’s influence in the corrupt courts of the clerical regime, these calls have led to nowhere.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    • On Tuesday, workers of Haft Tappeh sugarcane company held a protest rally at the entrance of the company and marched toward the management’s office to pursue their demands. The workers warned that they will continue to protest until their demands have been met.<\/li>\n
    • Retired teachers gathered in front of the regime’s Budget and Planning Organization on Tuesday morning, to protest the officials’ refusal to pay their pensions. They stressed to continue to protest until they’re paid.<\/li>\n
    • On Tuesday, workers of Isfahan Municipality held a rally in front of the Central Municipality Station to claim their wages that have been long overdue.<\/li>\n
    • Gas operators in Yazd staged a protest rally in front of the governor’s office on Tuesday, due to the gas network being cut off.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      UK Refuses To Validate Covid-19 Vaccinations in Iran<\/h3>\n

      According to the state-run ISNA news agency, on October 12, the British government announced that travelers holding a Covid19 vaccine card from Iran should be quarantined after entering the United Kingdom and take a Covid test in two stages.<\/p>\n

      According to healthcare regulations in the UK, travelers with Covid-19 vaccination cards issued in other countries, those who have been vaccinated with Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca as well as Johnson&Johnson for more than 14 days, will be exempted from mandatory home quarantine in the UK.<\/p>\n

      330 Villages Damaged in an Earthquake in Southwestern Iran<\/h3>\n

      According to the official IRNA news agency, the National Seismological Center at the University of Tehran registered a 5.7 magnitude earthquake at 06:09 AM local time in Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari as well as in Khuzestan province. The state-run Vatan Emrooz newspaper wrote today: “Out of 600 villages in Andika County, Khuzestan, 330 villages have are heavily damaged and 30 villages have been destroyed by 80 to 90%.”<\/p>\n

      Iranian Regime Continues to Restrict the Internet<\/h3>\n

      State-run media and officials are reporting an escalation of internet disruption across Iran, with the “lack of bandwidth” as the main cause.\u00a0 A website called zoomit.ir wrote: “Since almost two months, the bandwidth increase by the Infrastructure Communications Company has stopped and internet disruption in different cities of Iran has reached its peak.”<\/p>\n

      According to the site, the license to increasing the bandwidth must be issued by the Supreme Council of Cyberspace, which Ali Khamenei the regime’s supreme leader directly oversees.<\/p>\n

      In an interview with the official IRNA news agency, Joshaghani, an official at the Radio Regulatory Authority acknowledged the limitation of the internet but tried to use the beginning of the school year and online classes as an excuse.<\/p>\n

      Meanwhile, the regime’s parliament is trying to pass a repressive bill to impose severe restrictions on the internet called “protection of the rights of internet users”. As a sign of the real motives behind the bill, Agha Tehrani, the head of the Cultural Commission of the parliament, admitted that he’s been insulted online “20,000 times in just one day.”<\/p>\n

Talking about Tehran-backed politicians in his country, Al-Sharq al-Awsat quoted Sami Jamil as saying on October 11: “These people have failed and it is time for them to leave. In 2016, in a shameful compromise to Iran, they decided to agree with Hezbollah’s candidate for the presidency (Michel Aoun) and today, we all are hostages in Iran’s hands… Lebanon is under the guardianship of (the Iranian regime) today and this has separated Lebanon from its neighbors and friends.”<\/p>\n
