Nassrin Sotoudeh, lawyer of human rights defendants, was rearrested. Ms. Sotoudeh was arrested at home in Tehran on Wednesday, June 13, 2018, and transferred to the Prosecutor’s court of Evin. There is no information available on the reason for detention of Nassrin Sotoudeh.<\/p>\n

This is not the first time Nassrin Sotoudeh, a jurist and lawyer and winner of the Human Rights International (HRI) Award, is arrested.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Canada\u2019s House Of Commons Votes against Relations with Iran<\/strong><\/p>\n

The government of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has reversed Canada\u2019s long-stated goal to improve relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran.<\/p>\n

On June 12, the government sided with an opposition motion in parliament demanding that Ottawa “immediately cease all negotiations or discussions” on restoring diplomatic relations with Iran.<\/p>\n

A week after it was announced that French carmaker Peugeot-Citroen had left the Iranian market, Japan\u2019s Mazda and South Korean Hyundai have also suspended contracts with Iran, according to a member of the parliamentary Industries and Mines Commission.<\/p>\n

In an interview with the parliament-affiliated website, Valiyollah Maleki said June 12, \u201cMazda and Hyundai\u2019s interests in the U.S. market are much more than in Iran, and they will not sacrifice their profit for the sake of Iran.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u2022 Continuation of Street Protests of Iran National Steel Industrial Group Workers<\/strong><\/p>\n

On the 16th day of their strike, the workers of the Iran National Steel Industrial Group in Ahvaz, as in the past days, gathered on Wednesday, June 13, 2018, in front of the Governorate of Khuzestan and started chanting slogans calling for the fulfillment of their demands and the release of their detained colleagues.<\/p>\n

Of the 60 detainees of Iran National Steel Industrial Group in Ahvaz, who had been arrested in Kianpars Square and in front of the Governorate of Khuzestan in the past two days, with the exception of eight who were released during the first hours of their arrest, 52 of them were transferred to the central jail (Sheyban) in Ahvaz yesterday evening.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Farmers Protest Against Lack Of Water In Semnan, Iran<\/strong><\/p>\n

On Wednesday morning, June 13, 2018, another farmers protest was held in Garmsar and Aradan in protest to the disconnection of water from the Nimrud Dam; and the problems it has caused for their agricultural lands.<\/p>\n

The farmers in Garmsar and Aradan gathered in front of the Garmsar Governorate, in the province of Semnan, Iran and demanded the lack of water for their lands to be addressed by government authorities.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Kurdish women were banned from wearing traditional dress in public<\/strong><\/p>\n

Kurdish women were banned from wearing traditional dress in public. This was announced by the Security Council of Oshnavieh, West Azerbaijan Province in northwestern Iran, following a traditional feast in Kurdistan called the Cherry Feast.<\/p>\n

After a joint meeting of the Security Council, the Department of Intelligence and the Revolutionary Guard Corps in Oshnavieh, the agencies issued a warning according to which Kurdish women were banned from wearing traditional dress in public and in the Cherry Feast.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Two women were arrested for tattoo training<\/strong><\/p>\n

Two women were arrested in Mashhad for tattoo training.
