Iran’s state media warn officials of another uprising<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Rulers in Tehran are going through their worst period since usurping office in 1979. Iran\u2019s economy is in shambles, public hatred toward the regime increases, and the mullahs are under international pressure. The country is now grappling with \u201csuper challenges<\/a>,\u201d as highlighted by state media.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cUnfortunately, we are facing food poverty,\u201d wrote the state-run\u00a0<\/span>Mardom\u00a0Salarie\u00a0<\/span><\/i>daily on December 7.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cToday, people\u2019s incomes do not allow them to purchase enough food to survive. We should note that it is no longer a question of people being unable to buy houses, cars, or even quality food in this period. People can no longer afford the minimum amount of food,\u201d\u00a0<\/span>Mardom\u00a0Salarie<\/span><\/i>\u00a0adds.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

According to this state-run media, \u201cPeople have become poorer,<\/a> and certain individuals have monopolized the country\u2019s small amount of national production.\u201d\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cInequality excludes people from society, and this would cause many psychological harms for the involved social classes, and it would have unpleasant results such as [public] anger and dissatisfaction,\u201d wrote the state-run\u00a0<\/span>Sharq\u00a0daily<\/span><\/i>\u00a0on December 7.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cInequality stratifies society and creates deep gaps between social classes,\u201d\u00a0<\/span>Sharq<\/span><\/i>\u00a0wrote, referring to the rising nepotism in Iran.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0Sharq\u00a0<\/span><\/i>acknowledges that \u201cIn systems where economic inequality is more than usual, neither freedom nor democracy will form.\u201d\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIn the past decade, society has suffered from severe double-digit inflation<\/a>, sometimes close to 30 to 40 percent, and has suffered from severe poverty, especially deep class differences. This is very painful for society to tolerate,\u201d\u00a0Sharq\u00a0<\/em>acknowledges.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Finally,\u00a0<\/span>Sharq\u00a0daily<\/span><\/i>\u00a0warns regime officials about the consequences of Iran\u2019s economic and social problems.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cOfficials should find a solution to decrease the social difference. Because the society cannot tolerate this deep inequality and its persistence would result in tons of problems,\u201d it writes.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

For decades, the Iranian regime and its state-run media tried to deceive Iranians by giving hollow promises or by playing a game of \u201cmoderation\u201d and \u201creformism.\u201d Outlets like\u00a0Sharq\u00a0were tasked to promote such a false notion among people.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

During the first series of major Iran protests in 2018, Iranians chanted \u201creformist, hardliner, the game is over\u201d and put an end to the myth of moderation of the vicious theocracy.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cJanuary 2018 was the reformism\u2019s apocalypse,\u201d\u00a0Sharq\u00a0daily acknowledged on December 8.\u00a0Sharq\u00a0mentioned \u201cviolent, yet\u00a0determined\u201d force in society has ended decades of games of reformism.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Sharq<\/span><\/i>\u00a0then acknowledges that \u201cFrom now on, the starting point of any democratic project is to eliminate the conditions that have \u2018disgraced\u2019 the \u2018decent poor.\u2019\u201d\u00a0<\/span>Sharq\u00a0daily\u00a0<\/span><\/i>continued\u00a0that people\u2019s protests\u00a0for achieving their basic rights would immediately \u201cgoes on the path of seeking justice and demanding equality,\u201d and \u201cThe desire for freedom is manifested in its best form.\u201d\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In this regard, the state-run\u00a0<\/span>Mostaghel\u00a0daily<\/span><\/i>\u00a0also mentioned, \u201cIf the needs of the people are not met, the volume of protests may increase. Consequently, the violence in the protests may increase.\u201d\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cOn the one hand, people are in hardship and cannot make their ends meet.\u00a0So\u00a0they are forced to come to the streets to protest. Naturally, the system can tolerate these protests to some extent or control them, but the control of the protests may be lost to the relevant authorities,\u201d\u00a0<\/span>Mostaghel<\/span><\/i>\u00a0wrote on December 8.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
