For the past two decades, more and more Base Transceiver Stations (BTS) have been erected to keep up with the increasing demand for high speed internet and data services. However, there are major concerns about the effect that this equipment is having on public health.<\/p>\n
Urban areas are full of BTS installations and it is almost impossible to find a viewpoint where they are not visible. The radiation being emitted from these devices is very working for many, especially now that there are reports of people living in close proximity of them becoming ill.<\/p>\n
One of the most common complaints is extreme fatigue and headaches, but Mohammad Javad Nazarimehr \u2013 a member of the Iranian Parliament Health Committee, said that there were a number of side-effects such as infertility, a compromised immune system, loss of appetite, pain in the eyes, increased risk of neurological disorders and diseases such as Parkinson\u2019s and Alzheimer\u2019s.<\/p>\n
Many BTS units are installed on the top of apartment buildings as it is an ideal location to ensure maximum coverage.<\/p>\n
The telecommunications companies strongly assert that the BTS units that are installed in residential and heavily populated areas are completely safe. Nevertheless, the City Council in Tehran as well as the country\u2019s Parliament has discussed reducing the quantity of BTS installations for both aesthetic and health purposes. The telecommunications companies, however, have been taking measures to slow down this process.<\/p>\n
The Iranian public is becoming increasingly concerned about the dangerous side-effects that they are being subjected to as more and more information is emerging. They people are learning that the waves they are exposed to at home and at work could have some serious consequences.<\/p>\n
Corruption is rife in Iran and it is present at all levels of leadership. It comes as no surprise that accounts of corruption are coming to light with the BTS scandal. A technician who installs the BTS units said that the mobile service providers are disregarding municipal codes and national standards and they are not being penalised for doing so. They are also able to bribe building owners to look the other way. The technician also said that the authorities in charge of enforcing the laws and regulations are often bribed.<\/p>\n
Those affected by such corruption are of course the Iranians. Instead of adhering to certain standards, operators decide to play with the lives of residents through corrupt practices.<\/p>\n
The people of Iran are fed up with being placed at the bottom of the Iranian regime\u2019s list of concerns. It has, for years, placed more importance on the spread of terrorism and chaos in the region and disregarded the social issues that are crippling the country.<\/p>\n
It is no wonder that the people of Iran are calling for regime change. They can see that nothing will ever change and are taking their future into their own hands. The regime knows that the people will be the force behind the collapse of the leadership and that the domestic pressure is insurmountable.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
