Friday Prayer Leaders Explain Khamenei’s ‘Explanatory Jihad’<\/h3>\n

Following months of Ali Khamenei, the Iranian regime’s preaching about the necessity of ‘Explanatory Jihad’, his representatives in different cities started echoing his message more actively and clearly on Friday, March 11.<\/p>\n

Gholamhossein Mahdavinejad, the Supreme Leader’s representative and Friday prayer leader in Semnan said: “The day when the hypocrites (regime’s acronym for the MEK) committed crimes, they (the foreigners) offered them refuge, gave money, provided facilities for all these crimes, and now they (the MEK) turned to soft war and in order to fight the soft war, our leader has called for ‘Explanatory Jihad’.”<\/p>\n

Mahdavinejad added: “‘Explanatory Jihad’ means we must do something so that no one can talk about the execution of the hypocrites anymore. It means that the crimes of the hypocrites, the crimes of the United States, the crimes of Israel, these things need to be explained.”<\/p>\n

Kazem Sediqi, the interim Friday prayer in Tehran said: “The enemy is bombarding minds and beliefs with its massive propaganda. They destroy the minds of young people as well as people from different strata. If there is no defense, no explanation, no justification, if nobody is taking care of things on the streets, what will happen then?”<\/p>\n

Hassan Alidadi Soleimani, the Supreme Leader’s representative in Bojnourd also said: “They put false statements in front of the people’s eyes. They promote false and erroneous analyzes in society in order to divert the people and the minds of the people. People join the ranks of sedition without realizing what they are up to. If there is no ‘Explanatory Jihad’ about diversion and sedition, then those who want to conduct Jihadi explanation, won’t be able to do their job.”<\/p>\n

Nasir Hosseini, Friday prayer leader in Yasuj, said: “The enemy is having a great deal of activity, whether on the virtual world or the real world, on ethics, beliefs, mental status and on the minds of young people. They work a lot on school students and college students, in order to mislead them from ethics, from the revolution, and from the leader.”<\/p>\n

Hosseini also warned: “The unemployment of youth must be considered carefully and we must try to solve that problem. Unemployed youth is a danger both for themselves and for society and for the family.”<\/p>\n

State Resorts to Violence to Stop Peaceful Demonstration in Rudsar, North Iran<\/h3>\n

\"Aziz-Ghasemzadeh-family\"<\/p>\n

Today, while the state was putting Aziz Ghasemzadeh, one of the teachers in Rudsar on trial, security forces were dispatched to violently disperse the crowd that had gathered to support him and teachers were beaten.<\/p>\n

According to a report from Rudsar, Gilan Province in northern Iran, while Aziz Ghasemzadeh was on his way to court with his family, security forces started insulting his family and prevented family members from accompanying him. They confiscated the phone of Aziz Ghasemzadeh’s brother, and one of his relatives was arrested by the police. Under the pretext of training, police also surrounded Rudsar Education Department to prevent any demonstration.<\/p>\n

Once teachers started to gather in Rudsar, the police violently intervened to disperse the teachers and stopped the vehicles carrying teachers from other cities, beating people and arresting some of them.<\/p>\n

According to the security forces, Mahmoud Beheshti Langroudi, Mahmoud Sedighipour, Hassan Nazarian, and Massoud Farhikhteh along with several others were arrested and taken to an unknown location.<\/p>\n

According to sources, a minibus carrying teachers from a neighboring city, Bandar Anzali, who were planning to attend a rally in support of the imprisoned teacher, was first taken to a street where the IRGC was stationed. The teachers were brutally beaten by the IRGC special unit who had covered their faces. Two female teachers were taken to the hospital due to their injuries.<\/p>\n

Iran: The Failure of Khamenei\u2019s \u201cLook to the East\u201d Strategy<\/h3>\n

In recent days, Iranian regime president Ebrahim Raisi has tried but failed to downplay his regime\u2019s overreliance on Russia\u2019s support. Raisi went as far as to deny the \u201clook to the East\u201d strategy, declared and endorsed by regime supreme leader Ali Khamenei to engage in strategic alliances with states such as Russia and China.\u00a0In remarks to the Assembly of Experts on March 8, Raisi said, \u201cOur position is to have a balanced look.\u201d<\/p>\n

Earlier on March 5, in a press conference in Golestan province, Raisi said, \u201cWe are looking at all countries in the world.\u201d<\/p>\n

A Glance at the Women\u2019s Ward of the Kermanshah Correctional Center<\/h3>\n

Women prisoners in Kermanshah province, previously held in Dieselabad Prison in\u00a0Kermanshah<\/a>, have been transferred to the Kermanshah Correctional Center. Kermanshah prison officials made the transfer due to the expansion of\u00a0Dieselabad Prison<\/a> for use by male prisoners. More than 150 prisoners are held in the\u00a0women\u2019s ward<\/a>\u00a0of the Kermanshah Correctional Center without observing the principle of separation of crimes. The detainees are being held on murder, armed robbery, and drug-related charges.<\/p>\n

Iran Nuclear Talks Stumble Over Unresolved Russian Demands<\/h3>\n

VIENNA, March 9 (Reuters) – Parties trying to revive the Iran nuclear deal scrambled on Wednesday to resolve last-minute Russian demands that threaten to scupper negotiations, diplomats said, with the United States appearing unwilling to engage with Russia on the matter.<\/p>\n

Western powers on Tuesday warned Russia against wrecking an almost completed deal on bringing the United States and Iran back into compliance with the 2015 accord. Iran’s top negotiator returned to Vienna on Wednesday from consultations in Tehran.<\/p>\n
