People\u2019s purchasing power has dramatically diminished, and according to state-run media, Iranians could hardly make a meager living.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Iran\u2019s Statistic Center announced on March 22 that country\u2019s inflation rate had reached 40.2%, marking the third time that the inflation rate has surpassed forty percent since 1979.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Years of mismanagement, corruption, and ineptitude have hobbled Iran\u2019s economy. The regime\u2019s insistence on pursuing its regional adventurism has led to comprehensive sanctions by the U.S. and Europe, further increasing pressure on Iran\u2019s already-collapsing economy.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Iran\u2019s inflation rate has increased rapidly in recent years due to the regime\u2019s misguided economic policies.\u00a0 According to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.baharnews.ir\/news\/328138\/%D9%87%D8%AF%D9%81-%D8%AF%D9%88%D9%84%D8%AA-%D8%AE%D9%84%D9%82-%D9%BE%D9%88%D9%84-%DA%86%DB%8C%D8%B3%D8%AA\">state-run Bahar website<\/a> on March 26, the country\u2019s liquidity has increased by \u201c40% in recent years.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Liquidity is a crucial indicator; its absence could damage the economy. Low liquidity seriously damages the production of countries with a relatively high production rate and could hinder their economic growth.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Yet, when the liquidity rate is not in line with other microeconomic factors such as the country\u2019s Gross domestic product (GDP), it causes inflation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cAccording to the Central Bank, Iran\u2019s current liquidity is more than 450 trillion rials, but the production sector has not absorbed this liquidity. Therefore, it has not helped the country\u2019s economy,\u201d the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imna.ir\/news\/563410\/%D8%B1%D9%81%D8%B9-%D9%85%D9%88%D8%A7%D9%86%D8%B9-%D8%AA%D9%88%D9%84%DB%8C%D8%AF-%D8%B4%D8%A7%D9%87-%DA%A9%D9%84%DB%8C%D8%AF-%DA%A9%D9%86%D8%AA%D8%B1%D9%84-%D8%AA%D9%88%D8%B1%D9%85\">state-run IMNA news agency<\/a> wrote on March 23.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cProduction has decreased significantly; So domestic production is less than the usual needs of society. Thus, even with normal liquidity, supply is lower than demand, so inflation grows,\u201d IMNA quoted Morteza Afghe, an Iranian economist. \u201cIf the liquidity growth rate is faster than the GDP growth, it will lead to inflation,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">So why Iran\u2019s liquidity is rapidly rising?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">To compensate for its massive budget deficit, the Iranian regime started borrowing money from the Central Bank. Since the Bank had not enough currency, it started banknote printing, thus skyrocketing the liquidity rate.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cGovernments have been using tools such as borrowing money from the Central Bank,\u201d Afghe acknowledged, adding that \u201cthere is no other way. As years passed, the economic situation deteriorated, and people\u2019s purchasing power has decreased.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In his New Year\u2019s speech, the Iranian regime\u2019s president Ebrahim Raisi blatantly claimed his government has reduced inflation, a claim that regime officials and state media quickly scoffed at.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cIt has been seven months since Ebrahim Raisi took power, but there has not been a noticeable change,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.baharnews.ir\/news\/328106\/%D8%A2%D9%82%D8%A7%DB%8C-%D8%B1%D8%A6%DB%8C%D8%B3%DB%8C-%D9%85%D8%B1%D8%AF%D9%85-%D8%B9%D9%85%D9%84%DA%A9%D8%B1%D8%AF-%D8%B9%D8%B0%D8%A7%D8%A8-%D9%87%D8%B3%D8%AA%D9%86%D8%AF\">the state-run Bahar website wrote on March 26<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cRaisi\u2019s government ended the [Persian New Year of] 1401 by blaming the previous administration. He has only killed time,\u201d Gholamali Jafarzadeh, the regime\u2019s former MP, told Bahar News website.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Jafarzadeh mocked Raisi\u2019s ridiculous order of \u201ceradication of poverty,\u201d acknowledging that \u201cabsolute poverty has expanded and will increase. We will witness skyrocketing prices, ever-shrinking tables of Iranians, and governments rhetoric and empty promises!\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He then referred to Raisi and his government\u2019s claims of having \u201ceconomic achievements,\u201d saying, \u201cHow dare you to insult people\u2019s intellect? They are not blind. They see their tables and how their purchasing power has decreased.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cJust tell people what you have really done. People have nothing to eat!\u201d Jafarzadeh acknowledged.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">It is absurd to think Jafarzadeh cares about the Iranian people\u2019s plight. He sheds crocodile tears for people out of his fear of public anger over a plunging economy. This fear has been echoed by the regime\u2019s so-called experts and state media.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cPeople try to survive. How could we expect a population with difficulties winning its bread to reason with us? When one sees his family starving, would he come and try to reason with us,\u201d Amanullah Gharaie-Moghadam, a sociologist, told the state-run Bahar website on March 18.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">These comments make it easy to answer the initial question: Would a nuclear deal affect Iranian people\u2019s lives? Would the country\u2019s economy flourish? Let us not forget that the first significant uprising erupted in Iran in 2017, when the regime was enjoying sanction relief, and Wester powers had provided Tehran with a lifeline of cash. But people poured onto the streets because they couldn\u2019t pay for eggs!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Tehran will surely increase efforts to pump more oil to the market once the sanctions are lifted. Yet, every dime will be spent on the regime\u2019s machinery of repression and terrorism.
