Reportedly, prison guards attacked him in his cell and beat him when transferring him.<\/p>\n<p>Regrettably, this is not an uncommon issue. Farahi Shandiz has been subjected to countless physical and mental tortures throughout his imprisonment and routinely denied medical care.<\/p>\n<p>Medical Torture<\/p>\n<p>The denial of medical treatment to political prisoners in Iran is also a regular occurrence, often used to punish prisoners, extract false confessions, or intimidate prisoners who challenge authorities.<\/p>\n<p>The Iranian Regime should be held responsible for their role in the preventable death or injury to potentially thousands of political prisoners denied adequate medical treatment and care.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Raja\u2019i Shahr Prison<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Since mid-December 2018, the head of Raja\u2019i Shahr Prison has denied lifesaving medical treatment to political prisoners, many of whom have been waiting a long time for treatment. He claims that this is because a murder convict escaped while being transferred to a medical centre, but refused to explain why it was only being enforced against political prisoners.<\/p>\n<p>These are the political prisoners in <a href=\"https:\/\/iran-hrm.com\/index.php\/2019\/02\/25\/critically-ill-iranian-political-prisoner-denied-urgent-medical-treatment\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Raja\u2019i Shahr Prison who are being denied<\/a> medical care for their serious ailments:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Saeed Shirzad, who has severe damage to both his kidneys and could lose them without the treatment that his family already paid for<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Hassan Sadeghi, who is in danger of losing his eyesight following torture from prison authorities<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Majid Assadi, who is suffering from multiple diseases including ulcers, duodenal ulcer, liver cyst, waist disk, and spinal rheumatism<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Shahram Mansourpour, who needs urgent surgery after a spinal disk inflammation<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Arash Sadeghi, who has been diagnosed with a rare form of bone cancer<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Mohammad Banazadeh Amirkhizi, an elderly man suffering from a meniscus tear in his leg<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Hamzeh Savari, who has a painful tumour in his knee<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Iranian Regime authorities secretly transferred a political prisoner to solitary confinement in the Central Prison of Karaj over two weeks ago and no one has seen or heard from him [&#8230;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":10,"featured_media":52790,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[15],"tags":[178],"class_list":{"0":"post-25887","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-human-rights","8":"tag-save"},"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.3 -
