Twenty Thousand Forces To Scare Off Protests at State Ceremonies in Tehran<\/h3>\n

Dreadful of protests, the regime in Iran has dedicated 20,000 troops to secure the death anniversary ceremonies of former Supreme Leader Ruhollah Khomeini on June 4 and 5.<\/p>\n

According to the state-run ISNA news agency<\/a>, the police commander of Tehran province, Hossein Rahimi, announced that the special task force has started his work today.<\/p>\n

Brigadier General Ramazan Sharif, the spokesman of the Revolutionary Guards, said: “Extensive measures are being taken to ensure security during the ceremony.”<\/p>\n

According to Sharif, following orders of the Revolutionary Guards commander in chief, Hossein Salami, an IRGC special camp was instructed under the leadership of the IRGC base commander of Tehran Province to supervise the rituals. He also added that specialized committees using helicopters and the IRGC Aerospace force are among the assigned forces to hold this ceremony.<\/p>\n

Tababaeinejad said in a short interview after the incident: “Today, after prayers, a 25-year-old man attacked me. He grabbed my neck and then the police arrested him.”<\/p>\n

The state-run Borna news agency<\/a> reported: “This afternoon after Ayatollah Tabatabainejad left the Mosalla and before he got in the car, a 24-year-old man approached him and under the pretext of sending a letter, he scratched his neck with a knife. The offender was arrested and handed over to the security forces.”<\/p>\n

According to the source, this person is also the Deputy CEO of Khuzestan Steel Factory.<\/p>\n

News sources in Iran have reported the “suspicious death” of a senior officer of the Revolutionary Guards Quds Force in western Tehran. According to the sources, Colonel Ali Esmailzadeh “was killed after falling from the balcony of his house.”<\/p>\n

While some sources have speculated the possibility of Esmailzadeh’s cleansing, the cause of death “has not yet been determined,” according to the Saberin News account, close to the Quds Force. Sabreen News asked its followers not to pay attention to speculations from “dissident networks”.<\/p>\n
