Ebrahim Raisi’s Minister of Labor Resigned<\/h3>\n

After months-long protests across Iran and protesters calling for him to step down, the Iranian regime’s Minister of Labor resigned today.<\/p>\n

This morning, the state-run Fars news agency<\/a> quoted the spokesman of Ebrahim Raisi\u2019s administration as announcing that Hojjat Abdolmaleki\u2019s resignation was accepted by the regime\u2019s president. The agency also reported that Mohammad Hadi Zahedi-Vafa, former economic deputy of the vice president becomes acting Minister of Labor.<\/p>\n

Abdolmaleki attributed his resignation to “increasing coordination” in the government.<\/p>\n

The state-run ISNA news agency<\/a> reported: \u201cZahedi Vafa has been the director of the Research Center of Imam Sadegh University (an elite college mainly for state officials\u2019 offspring<\/a>), the director of the Faculty of Islamic Studies and Economics of Imam Sadegh University, and the deputy director of economic affairs of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Finance.\u201d<\/p>\n

\"Mohammad-Hadi-Zahedi-Vafa\"ISNA also mentioned a managerial record that shows his background in other institutions that are tied with the IRGC and have their hands dirty with systemic corruption and plundering the Iranian people’s wealth.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe is also a member of the board of directors of Social Security Investment Company (Shasta), chairman of the board of directors of New Industries Holding, chairman of the board of directors of Rightel Company, chairman of the Economics Institute of the Iranian Islamic Model Center for Progress since 2011 and the planning deputy director of Imam Sadegh University,\u201d ISNA added.<\/p>\n

4 Un Rapporteurs Intervene To Stop the Breach of Political Prisoners\u2019 Housing and Property Rights<\/h3>\n

4 UN Rapporteurs wrote to the clerical regime in Iran about violating the rights of two political prisoners,\u00a0Fatemeh Mosanna<\/a>\u00a0and her husband, Hassan Sadeghi.<\/p>\n

Addressing Ebrahim Raisi\u2019s Government, the 4 UN Rapporteurs gave them a 60-day deadline in which they expected a response to violations of the two\u00a0political prisoners<\/a>\u2019 right to property and housing.<\/p>\n

This letter, dated April 7, 2022, was made public and\u00a0published<\/a>\u00a0on the UN website with a two-month delay under UN rules.<\/p>\n

Iran Executes 26 Prisoners in 10 Days<\/h3>\n

As an instrument of harassment, Iran\u2019s judiciary courts have been extremely busy with execution orders carrying out\u00a026<\/a>\u00a0executions in the span of just ten days. According to reports, at least 26 people, including two women, were executed from May 17 to 27 in 11 Iranian provinces. Seven of the executed men were Baluchi citizens \u2014 an ethnic minority making up five percent of the population \u2014 and were sentenced to death on \u201cdrug-related\u201d charges.<\/p>\n

The clerical regime hanged\u00a012 inmates in Kermanshah<\/a>, Ilam, Birjand, Ardabil, Khalkhal, Ahvaz, Isfahan, and Amol prisons from June 7 to June 9. Twelve prisoners from the Baluch minority were sent to the gallows in Zahedan Prison on June 6.<\/p>\n

Imprisoned Labor Activist Reza Shahabi Goes on Hunger Strike<\/h3>\n

Reza Shahabi, a leading member of an independent trade union in Iran, who has been detained since May 12, started a hunger strike in protest at his continued detention.<\/p>\n

A board member of the Union of Workers of the Tehran and Suburbs Bus Company (Sherkat-e Vahed), Shahabi was arrested on May 12.<\/p>\n

Intelligence Ministry officers arrested him shortly after he publicly called on the authorities to investigate death threats against him and his family.<\/p>\n
