The recent flooding in Iran has highlighted how, in an effort to make a profit at the expense of people, the Iranian Regime exploited natural resources and undercut safety standards for infrastructure, which made the disaster even more devastating.<\/p>\n
As usual, the mullahs were unwilling to take any responsibility; instead, the rival factions are blaming each other for their crimes because they fear being overthrown by the Iranian people. Even though infighting has already ratcheted to unprecedented levels due to increased international isolation and economic sanctions.<\/p>\n
The Iranian parliament\u2019s first deputy speaker, Masoud Pezeshkian, who is close to President Hassan Rouhani\u2019s faction, said that the Regime\u2019s current problems are bigger than during the Iran-Iraq war, highlighting more American sanctions and controversy over whether to accept the laws of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF). But he refused to blame the mullahs for the crises, instead accusing foreign forces of hurting the country.<\/p>\n
While Hamid Mirmoiny, a technical analyst of the Iranian stock market, said: \u201cSince officials still haven\u2019t presented a program for the market [with these conditions], we shouldn\u2019t be very optimistic about its conditions for the Persian new year.\u201d<\/p>\n
Iranian political pundit Mehdi Motaharnia, who is also close to Rouhani\u2019s faction, said that this year will be significant for the Regime and that the issues facing Iran could \u201cblock the path of the government\u201d and Pedram Soltani, former deputy president of Iran\u2019s Chamber of Commerce, said that this could result in the economy being flooded. Even the Iranian Diplomacy website dismisses ideas of Europe continuing to help Iran and made veiled threats against the continent\u2019s security.<\/p>\n
All in all, it is clear that the mullahs know that they are facing significant problems and that Europe is no longer their liferaft.<\/p>\n
The Regime knows that it needs to submit to the FATF standards of transparency in order to get assistance from Europe, but the mullahs are unwilling to do that. They publically see Europe\u2019s special purpose vehicle to facilitate trade with Iran as an oil for food programme that they do not wish to be a part of. Privately, they fear this will expose their sponsorship of terrorist entities.<\/p>\n
That\u2019s why supreme leader Ali Khamenei used his New Year speech to condemn the West and call for Iran to abandon it.<\/p>\n
He said: \u201cWe should forgo the help and company of the West altogether. We shouldn\u2019t wait for them. Because the West has shown that you can\u2019t expect help from them. You can expect conspiracy from them, but you can\u2019t depend on them at all. In this recent issue, the [nuclear deal], what were Europeans supposed to do? In Addition to not taking a stand in front of the U.S., while they continuously reiterated to us to not leave the [nuclear deal], they practically left it. This financial channel that recently it is continuously said that they have created a financial channel, this is more like a joke. A bitter joke indeed. In our latest international issue, Europeans have backstabbed us once again, cheated on us, you can\u2019t expect anything from them.\u201d<\/p>\n
Of course, this fails to note that Iran has publically admitted cheating on the nuclear deal and so the West is well within their rights to punish the Regime for it.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
