Amid Nuclear Talks Resuming in Qatar, Khamenei’s Mouthpiece Warns of Bad Signals to Russia and China<\/h3>\n

The Kayhan newspaper whose editorial guidelines are dictated by the Supreme Leader’s office, wrote today<\/a>: “Negotiating in Qatar is a trap and we should not reward the United States with it. The West is waiting for us to welcome the resumption of negotiations zealously (a retreat if you will) and fall into the American and European traps!”<\/p>\n

“Another thing that should not be overlooked is that the location of the nuclear negotiations is not the main issue,” the daily added. “If the United States wanted to lift the sanctions, it could have done so in Vienna. Therefore, determining another place for the talks may initiate the rumor that China and Russia were disturbing the negotiations and Iran and the United States are supposed to sideline China and Russia by indirect negotiations in Qatar.”<\/p>\n

Regime’s President Warns of MEK<\/h3>\n

In a meeting with officials of the Judiciary, the regime’s president Ebrahim Raisi repeated Tehran’s grievances about the Mujahedin-e-Khalq Organization and warned law enforcement to be aware of penetration into state institutions.<\/p>\n

“The group of hypocrites (regime’s description of the MEK) shall eternally be cursed because wherever you see evil and sedition in the country in the last 40 years, there has been a footprint of the hypocrites,” Raisi said<\/a>. “There has been no movement or action against this revolution where the hypocrites were absent. With the backing of dominant powers (one of the regime’s terms for referring to the West), the hypocrites have always tried to continue with their evil doing.”<\/p>\n

The former head of the Judiciary added: “Combatting penetration is the main task of the revolutionary forces. The revolutionary forces must be wary so that those who try to infiltrate our system cannot pursue their evil goals in this country. Today, the main task of the revolutionary forces is to combat penetration.”<\/p>\n

In recent days, the Resistance Units carried out activities in several cities, including Tehran, Mashhad, Rasht, Sabzevar, and Isfahan.<\/p>\n

Reports say several matters of disagreement between the United States and Iran, including over Washington listing the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) as a foreign terrorist organization, were behind the deal\u2019s failures.<\/p>\n

One of the worst disasters caused by the Iran regime\u2019s corruption was the collapse of the Metropol tower in Abadan on May 22, 2022. Dozens were killed, and many others were injured. The regime has refused to announce the victims\u2019 names or the actual casualties, while many unofficial numbers speak about the death of more than 300 people, mostly workers.<\/p>\n

This event brought the critical state of instability and worn-out buildings in Iran to light. Yesterday the state-run daily Asr-e Iran wrote that the regime\u2019s Head of Medical Sciences had ordered the evacuation of the Hazrat-e Rasul hospital by the end of July. He said that this hospital, like many other hospitals in the country, is insecure and that an event like the Metropol\u00a0collapse is possible<\/a>\u00a0in many of them.<\/p>\n

Security forces arrested 22 tourists in the summer heights of the Amlash region of Gilan Province last weekend.<\/p>\n

Some local media outlets claimed on Sunday, that these individuals were involved in \u201d propagating an emerging and Western sect.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to reports, these citizens had come to this recreational area in tourist groups, and security forces confiscated 14 cars of these tourists upon their arrest.<\/p>\n

Rights Lawyer Returned to Prison to \u2018Continue Serving His Sentence\u2019<\/h3>\n

Amirsalar Davoodi, a human rights activist and lawyer who was temporarily released from prison in June last year after about 2 years and 7 months in prison, was returned to prison on Sunday.<\/p>\n

Mr. Davoodi\u2019s wife, Tannaz Kolahchian, tweeted that the human rights lawyer had been sent back to prison \u201cto continue serving his sentence.\u201d<\/p>\n

Amirsalar Davoudi was arrested on November 20, 2018, by security agents in his law office.<\/p>\n

Father of Slain Protester Imprisoned for Seeking Justice<\/h3>\n

\"Amin-Ansarifar\"<\/p>\n

Amin Ansarifar, the father of slain protester Farzad Ansarifar turned himself in to begin serving his sentence in Behbahan Prison.<\/p>\n

Ansarifar\u2019s eldest son, 27-year-old Farzad, was shot and killed in November 2019 by a bullet fired by the state security forces in Behbahan, southern Iran, during the protests over the sudden rise in gasoline prices.<\/p>\n

Ansarifar\u2019s daughter, Farzaneh, tweeted the news, saying that her father\u2019s crime was asking: \u201cWho is my son\u2019s killer?\u201d<\/p>\n
