The Iranian regime rules with fear, intimidation and threats. Throughout many times in the past, it has tried to extinguish all dissent through executions and violence. One of the most prominent examples of this is what has become known as the 1988 massacre<\/a>. During the course of one single summer, tens of thousands of Iranians were killed. Most of these people were members of the PMOI, the main opposition to the Iranian regime.<\/p>\n

The mullahs have said on countless occasions that it does not see the opposition as a real threat. It has dismissed the group as small and without much of a following in Iran. However, it knows rightly that this is not true and as the years go on the opposition grows stronger. Even in recent months, officials have had to admit that the Resistance presents a great threat to its survival.<\/p>\n

The situation in Iran is a disaster. Iran has huge gas reserves \u2013 the second biggest in the whole world. It also has significant crude oils \u2013 the fourth biggest in the world. Yet the country\u2019s economy has been crumbling for decades, culminating in the current economic crisis that has seen the value of the national currency, the rial, plummet in recent times.<\/p>\n

For more than a year now, the people of Iran have been taking to the streets in anti-government demonstrations and protests. Numerous sectors have carried out nationwide strikes, in particular truck drivers. In just over a year, the Iranian regime has arrested more than 12,000 protesters and killed dozens. It is clear that the Iranian regime has been startled by the will of the people and it has struggled to get a hold of the situation. It has resorted, as it has done time and time again in the past, to violent suppression.<\/p>\n

And the Iranian regime is losing control beyond its borders too. Its Quds Force has been spreading terror and chaos across the region. It is responsible for countless bombings, assassinations and cyber-attacks around the world and carries out extensive intelligence gathering. It has provided wide-ranging support to the Houthi rebels in Yemen, to Bashar al Assad\u2019s regime in Syria and to the ruthless Shia militias in Iraq. Iran also provides extensive funding and support to the terrorist Lebanese Hezbollah group.<\/p>\n

The Iranian regime has been involved in a number of attempted assassinations and terrorist attacks on European soil. Thankfully European intelligence agencies were able to foil the attacks but the increasing trend and Iran\u2019s brazen attitude are very concerning.<\/p>\n

Now that, U.S. President Donald Trump announced the designation of the IRGC as a foreign terrorist organisation (FTO). This will allow the U.S. to criminally prosecute anyone supporting the IRGC.<\/p>\n

This has been welcome news to the people of Iran who have been terrorised by the IRGC for years. They overwhelmingly want regime change as they know it is the only way in which they will ever experience true freedom.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
