This treaty could result in the release of diplomat-terrorist Assadollah Assadi, currently serving a 20-year term in prison in Belgium.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Initially signed in March 2021, this treaty underlines that criminals arrested in either Belgium or Iran should return to their country of origin for punishment.\u00a0 Once ratified, this so-called \u201chumanitarian plan\u201d will result in the repatriation of Iran\u2019s incarcerated \u00a0Assadi.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Assadi masterminded a foiled terrorist plot against the Iranian Resistance \u201c<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/news\/iran-resistance\/free-iran-gathering-paris-2018\/\" rel=\"noopener\">Free Iran<\/a>\u201d gathering in Paris in June 2018. He used his diplomatic status to transfer 500 grams of the deadly <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thetimes.co.uk\/article\/a-hellish-pizza-hut-delivery-irans-bomb-to-take-out-foes-in-paris-9067nb66k\" rel=\"noopener\">explosive TAPT<\/a>, using a commercial airline to Austria, where he managed Tehran\u2019s extensive network of terrorism and espionage across Europe as the third secretary of the regime\u2019s embassy in Vienna.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Assadi and his three operatives were arrested before implementing their sinister plan. Assadi was later sentenced to 20 years in prison. In May 2022, the Antwerp Court of Appeals in Belgium rejected the appeal of Assadi\u2019s operatives, <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.vrt.be\/vrtnws\/en\/2021\/02\/02\/iranian-terror-suspect-is-belgian-jail-is-top-spy\/\" rel=\"noopener\">Nasimeh Naami, Amir Saadouni<\/a>, and Mehrdad Arefani. Sadouni and Naami were sentenced to 18 years in prison, and Arefani received 17 years.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">During the trial, Belgian explosive experts testified that there would have been thousands of casualties had the bomb detonated.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The undeniable evidence revealed in court removes any doubt about the Iranian regime\u2019s involvement in this terrorist attack, targeting a rally with over 100,000 <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.eureporter.co\/world\/iran\/2022\/06\/29\/hundreds-of-lawmakers-and-current-and-former-officials-to-attend-free-iran-summit-in-july-to-stand-with-the-iranian-people\/\" rel=\"noopener\">Iranian expatriates<\/a> and freedom-loving people from other countries, along with hundreds of lawmakers, current and former officials, and dignitaries from both sides of the Atlantic and beyond.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Thus, freeing Assadi would only serve as a green light to the world\u2019s godfather of terrorism in Tehran to carry out operations across Europe against Iranian dissidents.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">It is na\u00efve to think the Belgian government is unaware of the dangerous repercussions of this ill-advised treaty. As time goes by, it is revealed that this disgraceful agreement is but the tip of an iceberg.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">On July 1, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rfi.fr\/fa\/%D8%A7%DB%8C%D8%B1%D8%A7%D9%86\/20220702-%D8%A7%D9%82%D8%AF%D8%A7%D9%85%D8%A7%D8%AA-%D8%A8%D9%84%DA%98%DB%8C%DA%A9-%D8%AF%D8%B1-%D8%AC%D9%87%D8%AA-%D8%A2%D8%B2%D8%A7%D8%AF-%DA%A9%D8%B1%D8%AF%D9%86-%D8%A7%D8%B3%D8%AF%D8%A7%D9%84%D9%84%D9%87-%D8%A7%D8%B3%D8%AF%DB%8C%D8%9B-%D8%A7%D8%B1%D9%88%D9%BE%D8%A7%DB%8C%DB%8C%D8%A7%D9%86-%D8%A8%D9%87-%D9%81%DA%A9%D8%B1-%D9%86%D9%81%D8%AA-%D9%88-%DA%AF%D8%A7%D8%B2-%D8%A7%DB%8C%D8%B1%D8%A7%D9%86-%D8%A7%D9%86%D8%AF\">Radio France International (RFI) Persian-language website<\/a> in this regard wrote: \u201cThis treaty seems to result in releasing one or several dual-nationals and French hostages in Iran. But beyond this deal, the Europeans are trying to facilitate profiting from Iran\u2019s oil and gas.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">As the war in Ukraine and the EU\u2019s muddy relations with Russia have resulted in rising fuel prices, European governments are hungering for Iran\u2019s gas and oil resources.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cWhen it comes to their vital interests, Europeans have no shame in abandoning the moral and legal principles. They are experts in using the so-called \u2018realistic policy,\u2019\u201d RFI wrote in this regard.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">As it faces more domestic challenges and international pressure, Tehran does not shy away from any measures to counter its organized opposition, the <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/english.mojahedin.org\/about-iranian-opposition-pmoi-mek\" rel=\"noopener\">People\u2019s Mojahedin Organization<\/a> of Iran (PMOI\/MEK).\u00a0 The 2018 foiled bombing was also Tehran\u2019s furious reaction to the MEK\u2019s role in organizing large-scale protests in 2018.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">When Mike Pence, the former U.S. Vice President, visited the MEK\u2019s compound in Albania and supported a \u201cFree Iran,\u201d last month, Tehran reacted quickly, vowing to retaliate.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cSince 2021, we started comprehensive and good cooperation with the foreign ministry to put pressure on the countries\u2019 hosting the [Iranian Resistance]. In every meeting with the European delegations or ambassadors, we speak about the MEK,\u201d said <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/news\/iran-resistance\/mike-pence-visit-with-mek-adds-to-the-long-list-of-tehrans-grievances\/\" rel=\"noopener\">Kazem Gharib Abadi<\/a>, the international deputy of Iran\u2019s judiciary, on June 25, according to the state-run Mizan news agency.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Apparently, the disgraceful deal between European countries and Tehran is part of the regime\u2019s \u201ccomprehensive plan\u201d against its organized opposition. A couple of days after, Ismail Khatib, the regime\u2019s Minister of Intelligence, revealed another part of Tehran\u2019s \u201cstrategy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThe MEK\u2019s terrorists should know they can\u2019t escape [the regime\u2019s] revenge,\u201d Khatib said on June 27, according to the official <a href=\"https:\/\/www.iribnews.ir\/fa\/news\/3488394\/%D8%AA%D8%B1%D9%88%D8%B1%DB%8C%D8%B3%D8%AA%E2%80%8C%D9%87%D8%A7%DB%8C-%D8%B1%D9%88%D8%B3%DB%8C%D8%A7%D9%87-%D8%A2%D9%84%D8%A8%D8%A7%D9%86%DB%8C-%D8%AF%D8%B1-%D8%A7%D9%85%D8%A7%D9%86-%D9%86%D8%AE%D9%88%D8%A7%D9%87%D9%86%D8%AF-%D8%A8%D9%88%D8%AF\">IRIB news website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">While the Belgian government tries to present the treaty with Iran\u2019s ruling theocracy as benign and humanitarian legislation that helps foreign inmates, it is deliberately turning a blind eye to the regime\u2019s terrorism.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Sending Assadi and his three accomplices to Iran to serve the rest of their sentence in an Iranian prison is indeed absurd and is like asking an arsonist to put out the arson. In this case, the latter is more probable than hoping a regime that appoints a criminal such as Ebrahim Raisi as president to prosecute Assadi, who was acting on orders by the regime\u2019s top officials in the first place.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Adopting this treaty and releasing Assadi is a license to kill for the regime\u2019s terrorists, as they easily target foreign nationals and Iranian dissidents with impunity.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Late Martin Luther King Jr. once said: \u201cInjustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.\u201d This mockery of Belgian\u2019s Judiciary and disregarding the meticulous efforts of many European security services sets a dangerous precedent, prompting other European countries to follow Belgian\u2019s lead.
