On Wednesday, the Foreign Relations Committee of the Belgian Chamber of Representatives voted in favor of a\u00a0shameful treaty<\/a>\u00a0with the Iranian regime after two days of heated debate with government authorities. The bill will be put to a final vote in the parliament on Thursday, July 14.<\/p>\n

Homelessness Among Iranian Women, Poverty, and Violence Against Women<\/h3>\n

The leading cause of homelessness among Iranian women is poverty and\u00a0systematic violence<\/a>\u00a0against\u00a0women\u00a0<\/a>under the misogynist mullahs\u2019 regime. Poverty, in general, means a precarious livelihood. Hunger, malnutrition, limited access to education, lack of access to health services, and the\u00a0lack of participation<\/a>\u00a0in decision-making are all consequences of\u00a0poverty<\/a>. Mohammad Hassan Asafari, a parliamentary Councils and Internal Affairs Commission member, said that about nine million Iranian households live below the\u00a0poverty line<\/a> (The state-run Khabaronline.ir \u2013 May 6, 2022).<\/p>\n

Mashhad University of Medical Sciences confirmed that the teams of \u201dPromotion of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice\u201d started their activities in hospitals to control the compulsory hijab. In a statement on Thursday Mashhad University of Medical Sciences said by the decision of the headquarters of Promotion of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice, special teams \u201chave been deployed in Mashhad medical centers\u201d to \u201cevaluate and inspect the personnel and students\u2019 hijab.\u201d<\/p>\n
