Iran\u2019s Sanctions Bluff Called, Humiliating the Mullahs<\/h3>\n

The regime ruling Iran has imposed\u00a0sanctions<\/a>\u00a0on 61 more Americans for supporting Iranian opposition People\u2019s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI\/MEK<\/a>), according to\u00a0a\u00a0Reuters<\/a>\u00a0citing the Iranian regime\u2019s Foreign Ministry.<\/p>\n

Most of the sanctioned American dignitaries long stood against the wrongful and politically motivated designation of the\u00a0PMOI\/MEK<\/a>\u00a0as a foreign terrorist organization by the U.S. State Department and supported the PMOI\/MEK members when Iraqi forces acting under orders of the mullahs\u2019 regime of Iran launched attacks against MEK sites in camps Ashraf and Liberty prior to the completion of their relocation to Albania in 2016.<\/p>\n

Iran at the Bottom of the 2022 Global Gender Gap Report Index<\/h3>\n

The World Economic Forum has published the 2022 Global Gender Gap Report. Iran, under the clerical regime, is at the bottom of the\u00a0gender gap index<\/a>, ranking 143 among 146 countries studied.<\/p>\n

The main reason for the abysmal ranking is the lack of equal opportunities for women under the mullahs\u2019 misogynous regime. Iceland has the highest world ranking in closing the gender gap.<\/p>\n

Several Arrests at Protest Over Northwest Iran Lake Disaster<\/h3>\n

The state security forces have arrested at least 16 people at protests over the drying up of Lake Urmia which was once the world\u2019s second-largest salt lake. Reports say dozens have also been summoned by the authorities.<\/p>\n

Rahim Jahanbakhsh, the police chief of Iran\u2019s West Azerbaijan Province, said on July 17 that several people had been arrested for disturbing security. He described the protesters as \u201cmany evil and hostile elements, who had no other objective than to destroy public property and disturb the security of the population,\u201d according to the state-run IRNA news agency.<\/p>\n
