He said, \u201cThe issue of chastity and veil is not an ordinary issue, but an issue of political significance and security for the country.\u201d (The state-run Tasnim news agency \u2013 June 5, 2019)<\/p>\n<p>These remarks clearly indicate the fear of the regime\u2019s leaders of the role of women in social protests.<\/p>\n<p>Mohammad Reza Es\u2019haqi, commander of the State Security Force of Gilan Province, also announced that \u201c28,238 women were dealt with\u201d this year in the province on the charge of \u201cimproper veiling.\u201d He added, \u201c2,321 of the said women were guided towards moral security\u2026 and legal cases were filed for 64 of them with the Justice Department.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/women.ncr-iran.org\/2019\/06\/07\/iran-ramping-up-suppression-of-women\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Women\u2019s Committee of the National Council of Resistance of Iran urges<\/a> the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, the UN Human Rights Council, and all advocates of women\u2019s rights to condemn the Iranian regime\u2019s misogynous measures to suppress Iranian women and support the women of Iran in their quest for freedom and equality.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Women\u2019s Committee of the National Council of Resistance of
