Almost three years after Iran\u2019s historic November 2019 uprising<\/a>, protests are still taking place all across the country, involving people from all walks of life. Increasingly, the regime\u2019s own institutions and state media are publicly recognizing Iranian society’s explosive state.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cThree of four Iranians participate in protests,\u201d the regime\u2019s Supreme National Defense University<\/a> warned regime officials in a recent study on national security. It names \u201cdisturbance, unrest, chaos, and other collective protesting behaviors\u201d as forms of social defiance currently ongoing in Iran.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n SNDU operates as part of the General Staff of Armed Forces and is dedicated to doctoral-level work on military doctrine, applied defense sciences, and management. All persons participating in that work are required to be at least 50 years old and to \u201cpledge and prove their loyalty to the Supreme Leader.\u201d These requirements limit applications to military officials who have been actively engaged in systematic crimes for the past four decades. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The newly published study examined the nationwide uprisings of January 2018<\/a> and November 2019 as well as subsequent protests, some of which are still ongoing and may set the stage for still further uprisings. The study concluded: \u201cWith the continuation of the economic crisis and the sharp increase in the feeling of injustice and inequality in society if uprisings are formed again, nearly 75% of people will participate in the protests.\u201d\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n This research claimed to have been conducted in Tehran, indicates that nearly 67.2% of Iranians have experienced a \u201crelative state of deprivation\u201d at \u201chigh levels.\u201d It also found that 82.2% of Iranians polled \u201cinsist they have not yet met their needs,\u201d while \u201c59.4% of people consider the country\u2019s situation anomalous and abnormal.\u201d <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n In terms of willingness to participate in protests, only 25.1% of people are passive in the face of grievances and have no desire to participate in any “civil or non-civil disobedience.” On the other hand, this research emphasizes that 41.7% of people have a low tendency, 22.5% have a moderate tendency, and 7.07% have a high tendency to participate in protests.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The so-called civil disobedience in question involves writing letters, going on strikes, and holding protests. Non-civil protests include the growing trend of defiant youths attacking the regime\u2019s bases. These measures continue in spite of the government accelerating its rate of executions <\/span>under Ebrahim<\/span><\/a> Raisi, in a bid to terrorize the public. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Although engineered, the statistics cited in the SNDU study<\/a> indicate that Iranian society is on the verge of a revolution.
