Supporters of the Iranian Resistance will urge the European Union to impose sanctions on the mullahs&#8217; regime and to support the democratic aspirations of the Iranian people.<\/p>\n<p>Supporters of the main democratic opposition People&#8217;s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI or Mujahedin-e Khalq, MEK) will rally at the Brandenburg Gate in the German capital in the third of a series of major &#8216;Free Iran&#8217; marches going on in Europe and the United States.<\/p>\n<p>They will say that any government that partners with the regime to circumvent sanctions is complicit in preserving an inhumane dictatorship. Imposing sanctions on the mullahs&#8217; regime aids the people of Iran in their struggle against this dictatorship.<\/p>\n<p>The International community, and specifically the EU, must recognize that resistance is the Iranian people\u2019s right to establish the sovereignty of the people of Iran, the demonstrators will say.<\/p>\n<p>Prominent German dignitaries and lawmakers are scheduled to speak at Saturday&#8217;s rally.<\/p>\n<p>The march is being held against a backdrop of international tensions over the Iranian regime\u2019s violations of the 2015 nuclear deal and its recent spate of terrorist attacks in the region.<\/p>\n<p>Two other marches were held in Brussels and Washington by MEK supporters in solidarity with the anti-regime protests that have rocked Iran since December 2017.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Thousands of Iranians will march in Berlin on Saturday in support of an end to the religious dictatorship ruling Iran.
