Kellyanne Conway, Counselor to U.S. President Donald Trump, said Monday that the message from the White House is clear — the Iranian regime’s \u201cmaligned\u201d behavior cannot continue.<\/p>\n
In an interview on Fox News, Conway said: \u201cThe president\u2019s been very, very clear — even in his tweets this morning — how he feels about the developments.\u201d<\/p>\n
Iran’s regime said it has arrested 17 Iranian nationals allegedly recruited by the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) to spy on the regime\u2019s nuclear and military sites. They also said that some of those arrested had already been sentenced to death.<\/p>\n
This comes following the Iranian regime\u2019s seizure of a British oil tanker in the Strait of Hormuz on Friday.<\/p>\n
“The ship was seized under false and illegal pretenses and the Iranians should release it and its crew immediately,” British Prime Minister Theresa May’s spokesman told reporters on Monday.<\/p>\n
In an interview on \u201cFox & Friends,\u201d U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said that the responsibility to free the tanker \u201cfalls to the United Kingdom,\u201d but that \u201cThis is the kind of behavior we’ve seen out of Iran for 40 years.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI think the whole world is wakening up to the threat,\u201d Secretary Pompeo said. He also echoed the president and Conway\u2019s words, saying: \u201cI would urge everyone who\u2019s reading that story that the Iranian regime has a long history of lying.\u201d<\/p>\n
President Trump tweeted on Monday morning that Iran\u2019s claim was completely false: \u201cThe Report of Iran capturing CIA spies is totally false. Zero truth. Just more lies and propaganda (like their shot down drone) put out by a Religious Regime that is Badly Failing and has no idea what to do.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cTheir Economy is dead, and will get much worse. Iran is a total mess!\u201d he exclaimed.<\/p>\n
\u201cIran has a history of lying and the president flatly denies their claims that they\u2019ve disrupted a CIA ring,\u201d said Conway.<\/p>\n
Conway said that Iran’s regime is not happy that the president pulled out of the nuclear deal, and that they could no longer rely on \u201cpallets of cash\u201d from a \u201cbad deal.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
