      Latest Updates on Iran Uprising on Saturday<\/h3>\n

      The opposition\u2019s show of strength Saturday with the slogan of \u201cDeath to Khamenei\u201d was followed by more protests Sunday with Tehran and Kurdistan province taking center stage. Killings by regime security forces in Sanandaj on Saturday, including the shooting of an unarmed commuter in his car, sparked intense protests that were met with a full-scale military response by the IRGC with gunfire ringing out in Sanandaj<\/a>, Mahabad, and other Kurdish cities throughout Sunday night. Reports spreading on social media tell of an undetermined number of people killed and wounded among the protesters.<\/p>\n

      This morning, oil industry workers at the Asaluyeh Petrochemical Complex stopped work<\/a> and joined the protests<\/a> with chants of \u201cDeath to Dictator<\/a>\u201d and \u201cDeath to Khamenei.\u201d Workers at the Bushehr Petrochemical<\/a> plant also went on strike chanting \u201cDeath to Khamenei\u201d.<\/p>\n

      In a show of desperation, the publisher of the regime\u2019s Hamshahri newspaper, Mohsen Mahdian, called on the government to actively block the Internet in a way that VPNs would not work. The current Internet blackout in Iran, geared to shut down the free flow of information and dissent, is costing Iranian SME\u2019s billions of dollars in commerce.<\/p>\n

      The regime is taking heavy losses in its confrontation with Iranian society as the people out on the streets are fighting back. Twitter posts show security forces using violence to clear sidewalks with outraged pedestrians shouting, \u201cthis is our land, and you want us to leave?\u201d The PMOI website<\/a> has compiled data sourced from the regime\u2019s own media that tells of at least 24 IRGC and Basij and SSF forces killed in confrontations with the protesters.<\/p>\n

      A 30-year-old Iranian shop owner, Mohsen Mousavi<\/a>, was killed by Khamenei’s repressive forces on Saturday, October 8, in Tehran’s bazaar area due to severe baton blows to his head in front of his shop.<\/p>\n

      Regime officials are expressing heightened alarm at the role the MEK has played in giving direction to the nationwide uprising. A senior regime figure and a member of the Expediency Council Gholam Reza Mesbahi Moghaddam told Tasnim news agency, \u201cSome have been deceived by the enemies, including the Hypocrites (MEK), like in all the past seditions. Behind all this is the desire to overthrow the system by the Hypocrites (MEK) and America.\u201d<\/p>\n
