Into its fourth week, the nationwide Iran uprising<\/a> has forced regime officials to express concern. Seemingly the fear has shifted to the regime\u2019s camp, despite its numerous attempts to quash protests.<\/p>\n

In recent days, authorities and state media spoke of \u201chearing people\u2019s demands and criticism\u201d and \u201capologizing to citizens.\u201d These remarks by regime officials, who have constantly shown their teeth and resorted to a crackdown, are quite telling of the uprising\u2019s power.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are ready to hear people\u2019s criticism and opinions. If we have made a mistake, we will make amends,\u201d Gholamhossein Mohseni Ejei, the regime\u2019s judiciary chief known for his brutality, said on October 10<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Besides his dark record in oppressing dissidents, Ejei is notorious for savagery among the regime\u2019s insiders, as he attacked the journalist Issa Saharkhiz in the regime\u2019s parliament, biting him in his ear.<\/p>\n

Saeed Reza Ameli, head of the regime\u2019s Supreme Council of Cultural Revolution, called for creating a so-called \u201cnational free speech house<\/a>\u201d where people could \u201cFreely share their opinions.\u201d Ameli made these remarks after a meeting with the regime\u2019s president Ebrahim Raisi on October 10.<\/p>\n

On October 10, MP Mehdi Bagheri also spoke of \u201cinitiating national dialogue to find a solution for the country\u2019s problems.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe should change our security perspective. The system\u2019s strategy should be based on \u2018smiling to people\u2019 not frowning at them,\u201d Mohammad Sadr, a member of the regime\u2019s Expediency Council, was quoted as saying by the state-run Jamaran<\/a> website on October 11.<\/p>\n

We also see the names of #Iran<\/a>\u2019s courageous women among the proud martyrs of the uprising. Their valiance and audacity instilled fear in Khamenei\u2019s Revolutionary Guards, so much so that they repeatedly acknowledged the significant role of women in the uprising #IranProtests<\/a> pic.twitter.com\/UC6YIgPg2f<\/a><\/p>\n
