But since the mullahs seized power in Iran, <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/english.mojahedin.org\/i\/iran-hepco-history-collapse-bankruptcy\" rel=\"noopener\">the company has been constantly declining<\/a>. The company was eventually sold to private owners with ties to the regime, which further pushed it toward its collapse.<\/p>\n<p>HEPCO\u2019s workers are one of many labor communities who are protesting delays in wages and poor working conditions. The regime\u2019s response to labor protests has so far been hollow promises, <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/english.mojahedin.org\/i\/iran-sugarcane-mill-workers-summoned-arrested\" rel=\"noopener\">crackdown and repression<\/a>, and <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/english.mojahedin.org\/i\/iranian-labor-activist-nasrin-javadi-prison-torture\" rel=\"noopener\">heavy prison sentences for protest organizers<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>Protests by disabled people in Tehran<\/h2>\n<p>In other protests, a group of disabled people held a demonstration in front of the office of the Iranian regime\u2019s president Hassan Rouhani, <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/english.mojahedin.org\/i\/iran-hepco-protest-201090825\" rel=\"noopener\">according to the website<\/a> of the People\u2019s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/pmoi-mek\" rel=\"noopener\">PMOI, Mujahedin-e Khalq or MEK<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>The demonstrators, who had come to Tehran from various cities, protested against the regime\u2019s lack of action to implement the law in support of disabled people. The protesters had invested in the complex by purchasing its units in advance. But the complex has yet to be built, and the protesters are demanding the possible embezzlement cases and their perpetrators to be exposed.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\" size-full
