Hossein Abedini, of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National Council of Resistance of Iran<\/a> has told Britain’s Express that the Iranian regime has been able to use dual nationals hostages as a \u201cbargaining chip\u201d to deal with the West thanks to the “weak” approach of the European Union against the rogue regime.<\/p>\n

In an interview with Express.co.uk<\/a> on Monday, Mr. Abedini said: \u201cWhatever the regime says it\u2019s not from a position of strength. If they saw robustness and if they saw a strong action, a unified action, they would retreat from their position. Our experience for many many years is that this regime has faced lots of crisis inside Iran.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s only a hollow threat but it\u2019s, of course, a terrorist regime so the only way to deal with it is not to give it further concessions.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThey should deal with it as strongly as they say. There are tactical measures that should be taken.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cEspecially putting the IRGC down on a terrorist list.\u201d<\/p>\n

European governments, unfortunately, have weak Iran policies that are “counterproductive,” Mr. Abedini said.<\/p>\n
