\"iran-uprising-04112022-1\"Iran\u2019s nationwide uprising<\/a> passed its 53<\/span>rd<\/span> day on Monday. The first and foremost conclusion of what protesters call an incessant \u201crevolution\u201d is that Iran\u2019s ruling theocracy has failed to quash or at least control it.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Regime officials made much fanfare about ending the uprising soon or threatened to quash protesters. Some authorities even went as far as claiming protests have finished it, leaving some \u201cscattered sidelines\u201d and \u201cminor consequences\u201d behind, that the regime would \u201cwrap them up\u201d quickly.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

On October 12, the regime\u2019s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei called the nationwide protests \u201cminor incidents,\u201d saying that officials \u201cshouldn\u2019t pay much attention to it.\u201d\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

But the uprising persisted despite the regime\u2019s attempts to suppress it brutally. The continuity of protests forced Khamenei to express his utter fear of the Iranian people\u2019s revolution. While trying to paint protesters as foreign agents and calling people and their organized opposition as \u201cenemies,\u201d Khamenei said: \u201cWhat we witnessed in the last few weeks was not just a street riot. The enemy had more profound plans and started a combined war.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The day after Khamenei\u2019s speech, Iranians poured on the streets in many cities to honor some martyrs on their 40<\/span>th<\/span> day of martyrdom. In Karaj, Alborz province, people clashed with security forces and, like Iranians in dozen other cities, forced the oppressive forces to flee.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

It is worth noting that Khamenei has been using his Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) and all other oppressive apparatus to control Iran\u2019s volatile society somehow.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The continuation of the current uprising has forced authorities to acknowledge their miserable failure in suppressing protests. \u201cThe system is not lost, but we have received a heavy blow,\u201d the state-run <\/span>Khabaronline website quoted<\/span><\/a> IRGC Brigadier General Rasoul Sanai-Rad, as saying on November 6.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Sanai-Rad is Khamenei\u2019s advisor and political deputy of the army\u2019s Ideological\u2212Political Organization, a highly influential military apparatus, and his remarks reflect Khamenei\u2019s deadlock vis-\u00e0-vis the uprising.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Khamenei and his ilk have tested all plots and forms of violence and crime to quash the uprising in the last 53days. From attacking prisoners in the notorious Evin prison and setting it on fire to two massacres of innocent worshipers in Sistan and Baluchistan province, attacking Tehran\u2019s Sharif University, and opening fire on innocent protesters, killing over 500 Iranians, including dozens of children.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
