Nevertheless, following years-long of popular uprisings and amid calls for the end of his regime, Iran\u2019s current dictator, Ali Khamenei, tries to ignore the voice of a new revolution, even rejecting any advice from his officials.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">In his remarks on Saturday, Khamenei <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/english.khamenei.ir\/news\/9334\/Today-the-enemy-is-seeking-to-dominate-minds\" rel=\"noopener\">struck a note<\/a> of desperation vis-\u00e0-vis what many consider Iran\u2019s democratic revolution by asking authorities from both his \u201cloyalist\u201d and the rival faction to unify.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The nationwide uprising continues for the third month in a row despite the authorities\u2019 attempts to quash demonstrations. The continuation of these protests has increased the regime\u2019s infightings, revealing large cracks in the establishment wherein Khamenei tried to consolidate power.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Officials from both factions have acknowledged the regime\u2019s grave situation, asking Khamenei to hear protesters, much like Iran\u2019s previous dictator, the Shah. Yet again, Khamenei has remained dismissive.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">\u201cThey tell us to hear the people\u2019s voices. Didn\u2019t you hear them on November 4? You should hear the people! How long has it passed since the burial ceremony of [Qassem] Soleimani and the large crowd attending it?\u201d he said, referring to the state-staged rallies on <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2022\/11\/04\/world\/middleeast\/iran-protests-anniversary-us-embassy.html\" rel=\"noopener\">this year\u2019s anniversary<\/a> of Iran\u2019s Hostage Crisis in 1979 as well as the mourning ceremonies the regime staged in 2020 following the elimination of its terror-mastermind Qassem Soleimani.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\"><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/Iran?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#Iran<\/a> regime Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei was fully aware Ebrahim Raisi as president would increase his regime\u2019s int\u2019l isolation. He also realized the mullahs face an increasingly restive public.<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/ProsecuteRaisiNOW?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#ProsecuteRaisiNOW<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/f9wM84op2H\">https:\/\/t.co\/f9wM84op2H<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/JHYWyd4NfW\">pic.twitter.com\/JHYWyd4NfW<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Mohammad Mohaddessin (@Mohaddessin) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Mohaddessin\/status\/1448732506103205892?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">October 14, 2021<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Instead of increasing \u201cunity\u201d in the regime\u2019s ranks, Khamenei\u2019s speech caused much stir.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">\u201cWe cannot limit people\u2019s voices to a special group. It is unlikely to have one voice in society. I am not encouraging anyone to speak with the Mujahedin-e Khalq [aka MEK, Iran\u2019s principal opposition group]. We should speak with former presidents and former parliament speakers who shed blood and tears to keep this system alive. If we don\u2019t act now, soon, we will be gone,\u201d MP <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.etemadonline.com\/%D8%A8%D8%AE%D8%B4-%D8%B3%DB%8C%D8%A7%D8%B3%DB%8C-9\/584933-%D9%86%D9%85%D8%A7%DB%8C%D9%86%D8%AF%D9%87-%D9%85%D8%AC%D9%84%D8%B3-%D9%85%D9%86%D8%AA%D9%82%D8%AF%D8%A7%D9%86-%D8%A7%D8%B9%D8%AA%D8%B1%D8%A7%D8%B6%D8%A7%D8%AA\" rel=\"noopener\">Mohammad-Reza Sabaghian<\/a> said during the parliament\u2019s public session on November 29.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">After Sabaghian, another MP, Jalil Rahimi Jahan-Abadi, warned his peers of the ominous future awaiting the regime.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">\u201cEvery 40 to 50 years, governments fall in the Middle East, face serious challenges, and resort to blind and bloody violence. Why? Because these regimes are incapable of understanding their people\u2019s demands,\u201d he said, as aired by Iran\u2019s state TV.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"mohammad-bagher-ghalibaf-iran-parliament-speaker-1\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-247029 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/mohammad-bagher-ghalibaf-iran-parliament-speaker-1-300x169.jpeg\" alt=\"mohammad-bagher-ghalibaf-iran-parliament-speaker (1)\" width=\"300\" height=\"169\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/mohammad-bagher-ghalibaf-iran-parliament-speaker-1-300x169.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/mohammad-bagher-ghalibaf-iran-parliament-speaker-1-768x432.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/mohammad-bagher-ghalibaf-iran-parliament-speaker-1-150x84.jpeg 150w, https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/mohammad-bagher-ghalibaf-iran-parliament-speaker-1-696x391.jpeg 696w, https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/mohammad-bagher-ghalibaf-iran-parliament-speaker-1.jpeg 1000w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>These warnings align with what Mohammad Bagher Gahalibaf, the regime\u2019s parliament speaker, tried to push as a \u201cnew way of governing.\u201d He repeated these words less than 24 hours after Khamenei\u2019s remarks on Sunday. \u201cThe only way out of this crisis and solving our problems is to renovate the ruling system.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">These remarks picture serious cracks in a system that Khamenei has been trying to consolidate in the face of an explosive society. \u00a0In February 2020, Khamenei purged all candidates from rival factions and <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/editorial\/parliamentary-elections-the-peak-of-the-iranian-regime-s-crises\/\" rel=\"noopener\">handpicked the parliament<\/a>. This gang of hoodlums was selected only to implement Khamenei\u2019s mandates, not to oppose them. The regime\u2019s Supreme Leader also eliminated all serious contenders in the following presidential sham elections to make way for Ebrahim Raisi, merely a \u201cyes man,\u201d to lead the executive branch.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">These contradictory statements underline that Iran\u2019s nationwide uprising has changed all equations, including the regime\u2019s inner balance. The most important sign of this is Khamenei\u2019s failure to even temporarily quell the infightings in his regime\u2019s ranks, let alone the nationwide uprising.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Khamenei cannot tolerate the slightest opposition or play any game of moderation. Thus, he rejects the pieces of advice from authorities whose objective is also to preserve the ruling theocracy. These contradictory remarks well portray the regime\u2019s deadlock facing Iran\u2019s democratic revolution.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Amid the clerical regime\u2019s <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.iranintl.com\/en\/202211249801\" rel=\"noopener\">rising infightings<\/a> and cries of warning by authorities to preserve the establishment, the Iranian people\u2019s voice calling for freedom and democracy is loudly and clearly heard. Whether Khamenei hears this national call for regime change or not, Iranians are determined to achieve democracy.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The ball is now in the court of Western democracies. They should hear the Iranian revolution\u2019s voice and stand on the right side of history by cutting all ties with Tehran and recognizing Iranians\u2019 right to self-defense vis-\u00e0-vis the regime\u2019s brutality.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Today, Khamenei and Raisi admitted to the explosive state of society by acknowledging pervasive poverty, 44% inflation, a budget deficit of 450,000 billion Tomans, and a 680% increase in liquidity. <a
