A few days into the execution of two arrested protesters, the Iranian regime\u2019s Judiciary Chief, Gholam Hossein Mohseni-Ejei<\/a>, rushed to boost the morale of the demoralized forces amid public and international backlash to their recent crimes against humanity. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cThe judges are free to determine the consequences of Moharebeh. Don\u2019t fear the accusations of foes,\u201d he said<\/a>, defending the regime\u2019s inhuman law of <\/span>Moharebeh <\/span><\/i>or waging war against God. The arrested protesters are mostly condemned to death after being labeled as Mohareb.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The so-called Islamic penal code allows the ruling theocracy to punish dissidents by labeling them as Mohareb.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n According to the regime\u2019s constitution, any group or individual that \u201cwages armed rebellion against the state\u201d or \u201cdraws a weapon on the life, property or chastity of people or to cause terror as it creates the atmosphere of insecurity\u201d is branded as Mohareb and thereby automatically sentenced to death.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n But following Mohsen Shekari\u2019s execution last week, many regime insiders, namely clerics, argued that “the defendant\u2019s accusations,\u201d including blocking the street or injuring another individual with a knife, wouldn\u2019t amount to a death sentence.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cIn dealing with the rioters\u2019 cases, you shouldn\u2019t show mercy. These are not isolated cases. It is na\u00efve to think they are not connected,\u201d Ejei told the so-called Revolution Courts\u2019 judges on Tuesday, according to the state-run IRNA news agency<\/a>.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n In his remarks, Ejei underlined a principle the clerical regime has been implementing in the past four decades: contrary to all legal standards, any collective action and popular movement for freedom are punished, regardless of individual\u2019s deeds.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n In other words, Ejei once again reminded judiciary officials that their regime is founded on human rights violations, executions, and tortures.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n A few months after usurping power, Ruhollah Khomeini<\/a>, the ruling theocracy\u2019s founder, said: \u201cI wish we had broken the journalists\u2019 pen, clamped down newspapers, set up firing squads in public squares, and eradicated our opponents the very first day we came to power.\u201d Soon he implemented his inhumane doctrine of murder and preserving the regime \u201cat any cost\u201d by sending tens of thousands of brave Iranians to the gallows in the 1980s. Many legal experts later described Khomeini\u2019s crimes as the \u201clargest state-organized crime against humanity\u201d in the 20<\/span>th<\/span> century.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Khomeini\u2019s henchmen called for the \u201cimmediate\u201d execution of dissidents and arrested protesters in the 1980s. They called for \u201ccrucifixion\u201d and \u201ckilling of the wounded\u201d of those affiliated with Iran\u2019s principal opposition, the People\u2019s Mojahedin Organization<\/a> of Iran (PMOI\/MEK).\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cThey didn\u2019t have to be tried. They were fighting us.
