During the 24th telethon, Iranians from across the globe expressed their full support for the Iranian people\u2019s November uprising and the opposition group People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI\/MEK). They also expressed solidarity with the nationwide Iran protests and the MEK’s Resistance Units in Iran.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Last weekend, Iranians both inside Iran and abroad took over the airwaves, as<\/span> a <\/span>prominent Iranian opposition satellite television channel that has played a vital role in broadcasting images of the recent Iran protests and the Iranian regime’s deadly crackdown held its 24th bi-annual telethon<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Simaye Azadi (INTV) a 24-hour <\/span>f<\/span>ree to <\/span>a<\/span>ir, <\/span>s<\/span>atellite television station<\/span>,<\/span> which broadcasts from Europe, has a huge following inside Iran and among the diaspora.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The <\/span>INTV <\/span>telethon took place from <\/span>Friday, November 13<\/span> and<\/span> lasted fo<\/span>ur<\/span> days<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

During the bi-annual telethon, Iranians from across the globe expressed their full support <\/span>f<\/span>or the Iranian people\u2019s November uprising and the opposition group People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran, PMOI<\/a>, also known as the Mujahedin-e Khalq or MEK<\/a>. <\/span>E<\/span>xiled Iranians also expressed solidarity with the risen people of Iran and the<\/span> nationwide <\/span>Iran protests <\/span>and the MEK’s Resistance Units<\/span> in Iran<\/span>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Iranian people and the MEK<\/a><\/span>\u2019s<\/span> R<\/span>esistance <\/span>U<\/span>nits sent messages of support and gratitude<\/span> to the satellite television station<\/span>.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The total amount of financial support provided reached $6.92 million, once again signaling the Iranian opposition\u2019s complete independence and their willingness to support those who are leading the effort to free them from religious tyranny.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Kaveh from the northern Iranian city of Ramsar called in to say: \u201cMy dear countrymen. I am a worker who has felt injustice with my skin and bones. I appeal to each of my compatriots: Help Simaye Azadi. I am suffering from cancer. I ask everyone who\u2019s listening to each help $10 to INTV.\u201d\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

One caller from the southern Iranian city of Shiraz, which was the scene of huge anti-regime protests in November, said: \u201cSimaye Azadi is the voice of the voiceless. It\u2019s the voice of justice for our people. It\u2019s the voice of a people who\u2019ve been described [by the regime] as rioters and thugs so that they could be suppressed and murdered under this pretext. So, support for this voice is tantamount to supporting the rights of the Iranian people.\u201d\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In addition to its financial independence provided by the help of viewers, the channel is also full of information and ideas by its community that participates either live in many programs, or by sending on social networks.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A very important characteristic of the INTV’s 24th telethon could be seen in the Iranian people\u2019s utter pride over the November Iran protests and the <\/span>MEK <\/span>Resistance Units’ key role in further encouraging the Iranian people in their struggle against Iran’s regime. Exiled Iranians across the globe pledged their allegiance with their risen compatriots across Iran, especially the families of over 1,500 martyrs slain by the vicious mullahs\u2019 regime during the November Iran protests.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Mrs. Maryam Rajavi<\/a>, the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI)<\/a>, sent a message emphasizing how dear Iranians across the world welcomed this 24th INTV telethon and expressed their support for the overthrow of the Iranian regime. This is a strong indication of national solidarity and how Iranians yearn for freedom, and their admiration for the PMOI\/MEK<\/a> and the network of <\/span>the <\/span>Resistance Units inside Iran, Mrs. Rajavi added.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The\u00a0MEK<\/a> <\/span>expressed<\/span> its utter gratitude for the support shown by millions of Iranians inside the country and abroad, and once again expresse<\/span>d<\/span> its absolute dedication to continuing the relentless struggle aimed at establishing freedom, democracy, human rights and equality for the proud people of Iran.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
