Maryam Rajavi, President of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), expressed her wishes for 2007, &#8220;a year of freedom, democracy and peace in the world, especially in the Middle East&#8221;, in a favourable context.<\/p>\n<p>Almost 500 people &#8211; members of the Iranian community, and particularly a large number of residents and officials of the region &#8211; gathered there in the evening to have a party where victory was often at the center of the speeches.<br \/>&nbsp;<br \/>Citing favourable decisions to the Iranian Resistance, Maryam Rajavi stressed the European Court of Justice&#8217;s ruling which cancelled the terrorist label of the People&#8217;s Mojahedin on December 12. As members of the National Council of Resistance, they will soon disappear from the blacklist and be able again to have access to their assets. &#8220;These victories are yours, you who stood fast to unfair accusations against the resistance&#8221;, the President stated.<br \/>&nbsp;<br \/>Another victory was celebrated last night; the resolution voted by the UN Security Council on the Iranian nuclear file. &#8220;This is the first step to prevent the mullahs from obtaining the atomic bomb.&#8221; To fight against &#8220;Islamic fundamentalism whose heart beats in Tehran,&#8221; the President who spoke in French, stated: &#8220;We must not give any concession or compromise. We have to support a democratic change in Iran. This will save the region and the world from the danger of war.&#8221;<br \/>&nbsp;<br \/>Yet there is still trouble in the hearts of the Iranians; the judicial investigation conducted by the anti-terrorist judge Jean-Louis Brugui\u00c3\u0083\u00c2\u00a8re in Paris. On June 17, 2003, some 1,200 police agents were mobilized to arrest 165 activists in Auvers and in six other towns of the Val d&#8217;Oise province, as well as in Conflans Ste Honorine, in the Yvelines.<br \/>&nbsp;<br \/>Among them was Maryam Rajavi.
