Nightly demonstrations in Abdanan, torching statues and symbols of clerical rule<\/h3>\n

On Wednesday evening, February 1, the 139th<\/sup> day of the nationwide uprising and on the eve of the anniversary of the anti-monarchy revolution, defiant youths in Abdanan staged demonstrations in the streets by lighting fires and shouting “Death to Khamenei,” “Death to the dictator,” and “This year, is a year of sacrifice, Seyyed Ali (Khamenei) will be overthrown.” They destroyed and torched the statue of an unknown Basij in the Basij square.<\/p>\n

In Isfahan, the youths staged a nightly demonstration chanting, \u201cFor every fallen person, one thousand will rise,\u201d and the slogans of “Death to the dictator” could be heard from the buildings.<\/p>\n
