Mr. Lance Gooden, a member of the United States House of Representatives, delivered a speech at the Free Iran World Summit 2023<\/a>. Joined by a Democratic colleague from California in a bipartisan show of unity, Representative Gooden expressed support for a free and democratic Iran. He commended Madam Rajavi for her leadership and the Ten-Point Plan, recognizing the significance of the MEK as the leading force of the Resistance. Highlighting Tehran’s obsession with the MEK and the regime’s evident concern, he reaffirmed the commitment to continue supporting the opposition movement.<\/p>\n

Below is the full text of US Representative Lance Gooden\u2019s speech:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Thank you all so much, and we are here together in a bipartisan fashion. My colleague from California is a Democrat, I’m a Republican, and we represent the majority view of the United States Congress. We believe in a free Iran. We believe in the Ten-Point Plan<\/a> by you, Madam Rajavi. Thank you for your leadership. We are so pleased to be here and that this event happened.<\/p>\n

Secretary Bolton, I think, said it so well. The MEK is very important and is the leader of the resistance. And it’s because of this obsession that Tehran has with them that gives them so much credibility. It’s obvious that you’re doing something right, and they’re very worried. And we want to continue to support you all.<\/p>\n

As a member of Congress, my colleagues and I have been really impressed with the representatives that you have all over this world. There are people gathering here across Paris, around the world, and in Tehran. And we value and appreciate the strength that you all bring together. We appreciate the resistance movement within the country. We appreciate the young people who are risking their lives to stand up to this regime. And we just want to encourage you, especially the youth of Iran, to continue your fight. This is an organic fight from within. These are not outside forces resisting this government. This is an organic, within-the-nation fight.<\/p>\n

We are so proud to stand with you. We are proud to stand by you, Madam Rajavi<\/a>. And on behalf of all members of Congress, we are with you, and we stand with you. God bless you. Thank you.<\/p>\n
