“We Are All Dead!” is the headline of an article featured in the state-run newspaper “Ebtakar,” penned by its managing editor<\/a>, Mohammad-Ali Vakili, and published on August 19. This piece serves as a response to recent remarks by Asadollah Badamchian, the Secretary-General of the Motalefeh Party, who has asserted that the reformists are dead, the era of reformism has ended, and that the system has progressed beyond their influence.<\/p>\n

Vakili elaborates, stating, “This commentary stems from astonishment over the commemorative event held at the graves of reformists. What reasonable system would find solace in the demise of reformism within its very framework? What establishment would revel in its own irreformability? What administration would find joy in the elimination of more than half of its own resources? … Should their Excellencies remain unaware, let it be known that the death of reformism within a state signals the initiation of that state\u2019s downfall.”<\/p>\n

The managing editor of “Ebtakar” continues, “The story of reformism was the story of the Islamic Republic. Its defeat signifies the defeat of the Islamic Republic. The reformist project spans nearly half of the history of the Islamic Republic; rejecting it equates to rejecting the system itself… If the implication of this defeat is that the system has outpaced the reformists, then this realization has come very belatedly. For more than two decades, the system no longer considers the reformists as its own. If defeat means that the people have moved beyond reformism, then it must be said that before the reformists, the people were done with the principalists, and reformism was the final stronghold defending the system. In other words, now the people are fed up with both movements.”<\/p>\n

Throughout the years, it has actively engaged in all the regime’s treacheries and transgressions.<\/p>\n
