As internal conflicts within the ruling factions intensify and international and regional pressures increase, the Iranian regime aims to expand the enforcement of mandatory hijab as a measure to suppress social unrest.<\/p>\n
Ahmadreza Radan, the chief of the State Security Forces<\/a>, announced the implementation of a repressive scheme titled “Hijab and Chastity” to be enforced rigorously in all public spaces and venues starting from Saturday, April 13.<\/p>\n State-affiliated media outlets systematically reported Radan’s statement<\/a>, quoting him as saying, “Police, while ensuring the observance of ethical standards and the privacy of chastity by the citizens, remind that it is inevitable, according to their duties, to legally confront the violators of hijab and chastity laws.
