In Tehran’s Revolution Square, two women clad in long black full hijab approach another woman, dressed in jeans, a long-sleeved shirt, and a hijab, or head scarf.<\/p>\n

She tries to walk away, but one of the women in full hijab grabs her by her sleeve and pulls her back, yanking her onto the ground. She is surrounded, wrapped in a blanket, and bundled into a white van. The scene is from one of many videos that have been circulating widely on social media in recent weeks, showing incidents of the latest crackdown by Iran’s so-called morality police.<\/p>\n

A long-time supporter of the Iranian opposition, Vidal-Quadras, 78, has accused the Iranian regime of involvement in the shooting.\u00a0Four people<\/a>\u00a0had already been\u00a0arrested<\/a>\u00a0as part of the investigation into the shooting, but the suspected gunman \u2013 a French national of Tunisian origin with several previous convictions in France \u2013 remains at large.<\/p>\n

He said, \u201cThe cornerstone of the leap in production is the worker.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hearing Khamenei\u2019s words, it\u2019s hard to believe that these statements are coming from the leader of a country where, according to the report of Iran\u2019s Statistical Center, 60% of its people are below the poverty line. Khamenei speaks as if he has no knowledge of the real situation of Iranian workers. He is aware of the dire situation of the working class, employees, teachers, and wage earners. However, following the tradition of all dictators, the fundamental political and economic problems between the people and the regime are covered up and censored, and an efficient image of the ruling regime is promoted.<\/p>\n
