Iran is facing significant challenges as heavy rains and flooding afflict thirteen provinces, causing waterlogging in numerous areas. The affected provinces include Isfahan, Ilam, Bushehr, Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari, South Khorasan, Khuzestan, Fars, Kerman, Kermanshah, Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad, Markazi, Hormozgan, and Hamadan.<\/p>\n

In South Khorasan province, several transportation routes have been blocked due to heavy rainfall, floods, and river overflow.<\/p>\n

Intense rainfall across various cities in Iran has led to the inundation of streets and roads. Reports indicate severe flooding in Shabestar County, resulting in extensive damages. Simultaneously, it has been reported that multiple subsidence incidents have occurred in the ancient site of Naqsh-e Rostam due to waterlogging.<\/p>\n

In Tehran, traffic police have restricted access to certain areas in the western part of the city, including the Khavaran Expressway, due to “rainfall and mudslides.”<\/p>\n

Spokesperson for the regime’s Crisis Management Organization Hossein Zafari said<\/a>, “Last night, we experienced heavy rainfall in western and southern provinces of the country, with Dezful City in Khuzestan Province receiving 107 millimeters of rainfall.”<\/p>\n

Zafari also claimed that “some houses in Ahvaz and Ilam were flooded, and some people were trapped by floods in Ilam, South Khorasan, and Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari provinces, but were rescued with the help of rescue forces.”<\/p>\n
