In a groundbreaking display of support, a majority of UK lawmakers, including 224 members of the House of Commons and 329 members of the House of Lords, have endorsed Mrs. Maryam Rajavi’s Ten-Point Plan for a democratic republic in Iran. This joint statement calls for the terrorist designation of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and recognizes the right of MEK Resistance Units<\/a> to confront the IRGC.<\/p>\n

The signatories, totaling 553 British lawmakers, strongly condemn the Iranian regime’s actions against dissidents in Ashraf-3, Albania, and emphasize their rights under the Geneva Convention and the European Convention on Human Rights. Among the signatories are the heads of ten parliamentary committees, former Deputy Prime Minister Lord John Prescott, former Labor Party leader Lord Neil Kinnock, former Liberal Democrat leader Tim Farron, former Conservative Party leader Iain Duncan Smith, former Chief of the General Staff Lord Richard Dannatt, and former First Minister of Northern Ireland Baroness Arlene Foster. Over 55 former ministers and deputy ministers from Conservative and Labor cabinets are also included.<\/p>\n

The statement highlights the Iranian regime’s destructive role in the Middle East and its aggressive policies. The UK lawmakers call for the terrorist designation of the IRGC and the imposition of oil sanctions on the regime. They also condemn the regime’s human rights violations, particularly the suppression of women, and call for accountability for the 1988 massacre of 30,000 political prisoners<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Among the distinguished signatories are 15 bishops from the House of Lords, including former Archbishops of Canterbury and Wales, Dr. Rowan Williams and Dr. Barry Morgan, respectively. Leaders from the National Union of Ireland and the Welsh National Party, the head of the UK delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, and five deputy leaders from the Conservative Party are also among the endorsers.<\/p>\n
