Italian MP Naike Gruppioni gave a speech in support of the Iranian people and their Organized Resistance (NCRI\/PMOI) led by Mrs. Maryam Rajavi for a free, democratic, non-nuclear republic of Iran.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Paris, June 29, 2024<\/strong> \u2013 Addressing the Free Iran 2024 World Summit<\/a> in Paris,\u00a0Naike Gruppioni, a member of the Foreign Affairs Commission of the Italian Parliament, expressed her strong support for the Iranian Resistance against the regime, emphasizing the importance of peace and human rights. Representing Italy, Gruppioni highlighted her admiration for Maryam Rajavi, describing her as a symbol of hope and resilience in the fight for freedom and democracy in Iran.<\/p>\n

Gruppioni condemned the oppressive Iranian regime, which she described as a fake democracy that strips away liberties and rights. She called for global support for the Iranian people’s struggle for a future where their rights are affirmed, and their aspirations can be realized. She also announced that the majority of Italian parliamentarians<\/a> have signed a joint declaration supporting a free and democratic Iran.<\/p>\n

She endorsed Rajavi’s Ten-Point Plan<\/a>, which envisions a secular state, free elections, gender equality, and the abolition of the death penalty. Gruppioni stressed the importance of supporting the Iranian people’s fight against authoritarianism and religious fundamentalism, highlighting the plight of women under the current regime.<\/p>\n

Gruppioni also shared her outrage over a recent statement by Maryam Godarzi, a spokesperson for the Iranian regime\u2019s presidential candidate Saeed Jalili<\/a>, which condoned violence against women who do not wear the hijab. She emphasized the need for action and announced her initiative to promote political and human rights awareness in Italy. Gruppioni also strongly advocated for a motion in the Italian Parliament to formally list the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a terrorist organization under EU measures.<\/p>\n

Dear friends, I am very happy to be here today with you in support of the opposition against the terrorist regime of Iran. It is crucial to support peace and human rights. I do so on behalf of Italy, but also on behalf of all those who believe that freedom and justice are a right. It is a great honor for me to be able to offer my support and express my admiration for President Rajavi, an extraordinary figure in the fight for freedom, democracy, and human rights in Iran.<\/p>\n
