Various factions and groups within the regime are aggressively vying for their share of positions to get a bigger share of plundering the country\u2019s resources and the people\u2019s wealth.<\/p>\n

Pezeshkian has formed a body called the \u201cSteering Council\u201d to select members of his government, with former foreign minister Javad Zarif at its head. This has provoked the anger and dissatisfaction of the dominant faction, reflected in Tehran\u2019s Friday prayers where the crowd chanted, \u201cZarif, get lost.\u201d<\/p>\n

The woman who was executed alongside the three male prisoners was named Mahmoudinia (first name unknown). She had been sentenced to death for \u201cpremeditated murder.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ms. Mahmoudinia was arrested and sentenced to death for killing her fianc\u00e9. She was unwilling to marry him and had been forced into the marriage by her family.<\/p>\n

He also mentioned that there are about 24,000 contractual teachers who need to be given permanent positions.<\/p>\n

Interrogation and Torture: The Story of Kurdish Political Prisoner Pakhshan Azizi<\/h3>\n

Political prisoner Pakhshan Azizi, currently held in Evin Prison, has penned a letter detailing the torture and pressures she faces. Pakhshan Azizi, a Kurdish political prisoner from Mahabad who was arrested last year in Tehran and is now imprisoned in Tehran\u2019s Evin Prison, wrote a letter titled \u201cSuppressing the Truth and Its Replacement,\u201d narrating her arrest and torture by Iran\u2019s security forces. Azizi writes: \u201cI was hung multiple times by interrogators.\u201d<\/p>\n

For two weeks now, by order of the authorities at Evin Prison, journalist, and political prisoner Pakhshan Azizi has been deprived of phone calls and in-person visits. The efforts of this political prisoner\u2019s family to establish contact and arrange visits at the prison have been unsuccessful, and they are concerned about Pakhshan Azizi\u2019s health, with her family.<\/p>\n
