On the evening of August 6, these prisoners staged a sit-in, leading to a violent crackdown by prison guards. Several women were injured and required medical attention. The prison administration had cut off phone lines earlier in the day, exacerbating the distress of the prisoners&#8217; families.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">These <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/news\/iran-protests\/\">widespread protests<\/a> and the violent response from the Iranian regime underscore the nation&#8217;s deep-seated socio-economic and political issues.
