On the second anniversary of the \u201cBloody Friday\u201d of \u00a0Zahedan, on Friday, September 27, 2024, the Baluch people once again turned the city\u2019s Friday prayers into anti-regime protests. With slogans such as \u201cWe swear on the blood of the martyrs that we will stand till the end \u201d and \u201cPolitical prisoners must be freed,\u201d they held a passionate march. With their raised fists and loud chants, they once again honored the memory of the martyrs of that day and reaffirmed their commitment to them.<\/p>\n

On the second anniversary of the Bloody Friday of Zahedan, Resistance Units held placards with slogans with motivating phrases such as \u201cFrom Zahedan to Tehran, my life for Iran,\u201d \u201cThe message of Bloody Friday\u2019s martyrs: No surrender,\u201d and others highlighted more aspects of the Iranian people\u2019s roadmap toward establishing a democratic republic.<\/p>\n

The Necessity of Ending The Impunity of Iranian Regime Leaders and Authorities<\/h3>\n

Following the international recognition of the 1988 massacre of the People\u2019s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI) as\u00a0an atrocity crime and genocide<\/a>, and a global campaign calling for the end of impunity for the perpetrators, the Iranian regime has been showing hysterical reactions. On September 24, during its weekly so-called court session to prosecute PMOI members, the regime\u2019s criminal judge said, \u201cAccording to international treaties, countries hosting members of the PMOI must return these individuals to Iran.\u201d<\/p>\n

This absurd claim occurred as nine NGOs with consultative status at the United Nations issued a joint statement during the 57th session of the UN Human Rights Council, calling for an end to impunity for the Iranian regime\u2019s human rights violations. The statement has been officially published by the UNHRC secretariat and received by the UN Secretary-General.<\/p>\n

Rising Economic Shocks and the Struggle of Iran\u2019s Middle Class<\/h3>\n

Currently, nine out of ten deciles in Iran\u2019s society are vulnerable to economic shocks. A closer examination of the spending patterns across deciles reveals that the gap in expenditures between households in the tenth decile is also considerably wide.<\/p>\n

Data on urban household expenditures for 2022 show that the ratio of spending between the 10th decile (the top 10% of the population) and the 9th decile is roughly double. However, the spending gap between the other deciles is significantly smaller, creating a pronounced disparity between the tenth decile and the rest of society. This means that while most deciles are vulnerable to economic shocks, even some households within the 10th decile might also become vulnerable in the face of new economic fluctuations.<\/p>\n

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC<\/a>) of the Iranian regime has confirmed the death of Abbas Nilforoushan, the Deputy for Operations of this military force.<\/p>\n

Abbas Nilforoushan was killed in an Israeli airstrike in the Dahiya area of southern Beirut, Lebanon\u2019s capital, on the afternoon of Friday, September 27. This is the same attack that resulted in the death of Hassan Nasrallah, the Secretary-General of Hezbollah, and several other commanders of the group, which is supported by the Iranian regime and designated as a terrorist organization by the United States.<\/p>\n

Freedom-Loving Iranians in Oslo Organized a Rally in Support of Iranian Political Prisoners and Against Executions in Iran<\/h3>\n

Oslo, Norway\u2014September 28, 2024:\u00a0<\/strong>Freedom-loving Iranians and supporters of the People\u2019s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI\/MEK<\/a>) held a rally protesting the Iranian regime\u2019s rising wave of executions. They also demanded the immediate release of all political prisoners held by the mullahs\u2019 regime and expressed solidarity with the\u00a0PMOI\/MEK<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Freedom-loving Iranians in Oslo expressed their outrage through slogans and placards over the tragic explosion at the Tabas coal mine, which was caused by the regime\u2019s negligence in providing basic safety measures for the miners, leading to the heartbreaking deaths of dozens. They also voiced solidarity with the miners of Tabas.<\/p>\n
