According to reports from The Wall Street Journal<\/em> and The New York Times<\/em>, Iran\u2019s Revolutionary Guard was deeply involved in planning the attacks. This raises a critical question: Why does Iran\u2019s clerical regime play such a central role in this conflict?<\/p>\r\n

For over 40 years, there has been a brutal and ongoing conflict between the Iranian people and the clerical regime. Amnesty International has documented cases of torture against children as young as 12, including electric shocks and sexual assault. The UN Special Rapporteur on Iran has accused the regime of genocide, specifically targeting opposition members affiliated with Iran\u2019s democratic resistance movement, the NCRI.<\/p>\r\n

On Thursday, October 25, state television aired remarks Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei made three weeks prior to a group of regime supporters. He expressed concern over the dangerous conditions currently facing the regime in the region, comparing it to the Iran-Iraq war. He stated: \u201cNearly 10,000 people from this province alone were martyred. Twice or three times that number were wounded. They did their duty back then. Now, we need these young people as much as we did during the war. Today, we need them!\u201d<\/p>\r\n

He added, \u201cBack then, it was an obvious, visible war; today, it\u2019s a hybrid war with physical, software, psychological, and weaponized aspects. The enemy\u2019s plots are more complex, and this matters; just being present on the military battlefield and making missiles is no longer enough.\u201d<\/p>\r\n

Despite already adhering to the hijab, some recipients report they were approached by \u201chijab monitors\u201d who advised them to cover their hair fully in public transport, particularly on the metro. Ignoring this advice, they later received text messages indicating potential legal action for repeated \u201cnon-compliance.\u201d<\/p>\r\n

According to currency traders in Tehran, they have been barred from any activity or transactions. Many traders have received phone threats from security agencies about detention and license revocation, resulting in a complete halt of currency transactions in the market.<\/p>\r\n

With the onset of the Obama administration\u2019s sanctions, this figure dropped below one million barrels by February 2012. Following the implementation of the nuclear agreement in 2015, Iran\u2019s oil exports rose to around three million barrels per day, but after Trump withdrew from the JCPOA, exports plummeted sharply, reaching only 190,000 barrels in winter 2019.<\/p>\r\n

When Biden took office in 2020, Iran\u2019s oil exports increased again, surpassing two million barrels per day by summer 2023. Concurrently, Biden\u2019s policies to reduce sanction pressures helped Iran.<\/p>\r\n
