Satellite Photos Show Israel Hit Iran Former Nuclear Weapons Test Building, Missile Facilities, Researchers Say<\/h3>\r\n

WASHINGTON, Oct 26 (Reuters) – An American researcher said an Israeli airstrike on Saturday hit a building that was part of Iran’s defunct nuclear weapons development program, and he and another researcher said facilities used to mix solid fuel for missiles also were struck.<\/p>\r\n

The assessments based on commercial satellite imagery were reached separately by David Albright, a former U.N. weapons inspector, and Decker Eveleth, an associate research analyst at CNA, a Washington think tank.<\/p>\r\n

They told Reuters that Israel struck buildings in Parchin, a massive military complex near Tehran. Israel also hit Khojir, according to Eveleth, a sprawling missile production site near Tehran.<\/p>\r\n

The social platform X has suspended a new account on behalf of Iran\u2019s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei that posted messages in Hebrew.\u00a0The account was suspended early Monday with a brief note appended to it saying: \u201cX suspends accounts which violate the X Rules.\u201d It wasn\u2019t immediately clear what the violation was. The Elon Musk-owned social media company did not respond to a request for comment from The Associated Press.<\/p>\r\n

The move came after Israel openly attacked Iran\u00a0for the first time this weekend<\/a>. Khamenei said in a speech on Sunday that\u00a0Israel\u2019s strikes<\/a>\u00a0\u2014 in response to Iran\u2019s ballistic missile attack this month \u2014 \u201cshould not be exaggerated nor downplayed,\u201d while\u00a0stopping short of calling for retaliation<\/a>.<\/p>\r\n
