The regime is bracing for potential repercussions on its economy and geopolitical stance as Tehran’s stock market reels and the national currency tumbles. While some Iranian officials publicly downplay the election’s relevance to Iran, reactions in state media and statements from various officials reveal deep-seated concerns.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The state-run <\/span>Etemad Online<\/span><\/i> reflected shock<\/span><\/a>, running the headline, \u201cTehran\u2019s Stock Market Shocked by Trump\u2019s Victory.\u201d However, Fatemeh Mohajerani, spokesperson for Massoud Pezeshkian\u2019s government, <\/span>dismissed direct impacts<\/span><\/a> from the U.S. election, stating, \u201cThe election of the U.S. president does not directly affect us. The overall policies of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran remain fixed. Preparations were made long ago, and it doesn\u2019t matter who the U.S. president is.\u201d She added, \u201cSanctions have largely strengthened our domestic capabilities, and the economy is robust enough to handle this.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs <\/span>Esmail Baqai voiced<\/span><\/a> a cautious tone, remarking, \u201cFor Iran, what matters is the actions of the U.S. administration.\u201d Yet Tehran\u2019s mayor, <\/span>Alireza Zakani<\/span><\/a>, maintained a defiant tone, declaring, \u201cFor the resistance, it doesn\u2019t matter who becomes U.S. president, as God\u2019s will to support resistance is stronger.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
