The state-affiliated <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/kayhan.ir\/fa\/news\/300737\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><i><span data-contrast=\"none\">Kayhan<\/span><\/i><span data-contrast=\"none\"> newspaper recently<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> warned that \u201cIran\u2019s ultimate target is being attacked\u201d as it linked Syrian developments to a broader strategy aimed at undermining Tehran\u2019s influence. Healthcare professionals in Ahvaz escalated their strikes, with surgical teams refusing to work until their demands for wage adjustments and fair workloads were met. Simultaneously, retired teachers in Yazd gathered outside the provincial Planning and Budget Office, protesting inadequate pensions and systemic corruption.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The protests extend beyond economic grievances, with members of the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/english.mojahedin.org\/news\/pmoi-resistance-units-in-zahedan-executions-will-bring-the-regime-closer-to-its-overthrow\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">PMOI Resistance Units<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> boldly defying the regime\u2019s extensive security apparatus by carrying out daring operations to amplify the message of resistance and promote the cause of the Iranian Resistance.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Meanwhile, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/english.mojahedin.org\/news\/irans-rebellious-youth-respond-to-the-destruction-of-homes-in-baluchestan\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">rebellious youth across<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> Iran have continued their acts of defiance, targeting symbols of oppression such as Basij militia bases and IRGC headquarters in cities including Zahedan, Mashhad, and Tehran, among others. These actions underscore the growing determination of Iran\u2019s youth to challenge the regime&#8217;s repressive authority.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">State media itself has acknowledged the regime\u2019s vulnerability. The <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/jepress.ir\/?newsid=342189\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><i><span data-contrast=\"none\">Jomhouri Eslami<\/span><\/i><span data-contrast=\"none\"> newspaper<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> recently warned of a \u201crevolution of the hungry,\u201d highlighting the dire consequences of systemic corruption, class disparity, and economic mismanagement. \u201cOne day, this pent-up anger will erupt like a volcano, unleashing the army of the deprived and the hungry against the perpetrators of this injustice,\u201d it cautioned.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\">New \u201cChastity and Hijab\u201d Law Targets Women<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Hence, desperately trying to withstand the inevitable, the regime has weaponized its newly minted \u201cChastity and Hijab\u201d law to enforce gender apartheid under the guise of cultural values. Set to be implemented on December 13, the law imposes crippling financial penalties, ranging from 5 million to 165 million toman\u2014equivalent to 20 months of a minimum-wage worker\u2019s earnings\u2014for repeated violations of mandatory hijab regulations. Women deemed non-compliant may also face restricted access to essential services, including passports and driver\u2019s licenses.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">The newly passed &quot;Chastity and Hijab&quot; law in <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/Iran?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#Iran<\/a> is a clear violation of women&#39;s rights, restricting freedom and imposing severe control over women\u2019s lives. State-affiliated legal expert <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.khabaronline.ir\/news\/1990953\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">Kambiz Norouzi described<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> it as \u201cpurely political,\u201d arguing that it is \u201cso disconnected from social realities that even partial implementation could spark social crises.\u201d Meanwhile, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.khabaronline.ir\/news\/1990930\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">Gholamhossein Karbaschi<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, a former Tehran mayor, warned that \u201ca large segment of the population will resist such laws, regardless of the penalties.\u201d<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The NCRI <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/wncri.org\/2024\/12\/01\/chastity-and-hijab-law-crackdown-iran\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">Women\u2019s Committee labeled<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> the law a \u201ccriminal and inhumane\u201d mechanism for stifling dissent, urging international bodies to condemn its implementation. \u201cThe regime\u2019s actions are designed to instill fear, but they will not intimidate Iranian women,\u201d said NCRI President-elect Maryam Rajavi.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The Iranian regime has also intensified its restrictions on internet access to curtail dissent and suppress public discourse. The ongoing censorship includes blocking popular social media platforms such as Instagram, WhatsApp, and Telegram, tools that Iranians have historically used to organize protests and amplify their voices. These restrictions have further limited access to independent information, forcing many to rely on virtual private networks (VPNs), which the regime has actively worked to disrupt.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Iran\u2019s regime sentences six political prisoners to death <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/emPdK1mNna\">https:\/\/t.co\/emPdK1mNna<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; People&#39;s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI\/MEK) (@Mojahedineng) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Mojahedineng\/status\/1863272601088348666?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">December 1, 2024<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Escalating Executions and Targeted Oppression<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The regime\u2019s brutality extends to its treatment of political prisoners. On November 30, 2024, the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/ncri-statements\/statement-human-rights\/six-political-prisoners-sentenced-to-execution-for-pmoi-membership-in-iran\/\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">Secretariat of the National Council<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) revealed that six political prisoners\u2014Abolhassan Montazer, Pouya Ghobadi, Vahid Bani-Amrian, Babak Alipour, Ali Akbar Daneshvarkar, and Mohammad Taghavi\u2014were sentenced to death. Charges against them include membership in the People\u2019s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI\/MEK), \u201carmed rebellion,\u201d and \u201ccollusion against national security.\u201d<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">These individuals endured months of brutal torture and relentless interrogation under the oversight of Revolutionary Court Judge Iman Afshari. Simultaneously, the regime continues to accelerate its execution campaign. Last month alone, at least 145 executions were documented, bringing the total to 540 since Massoud Pezeshkian assumed the presidency.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Pushing Society Toward the Point of No Return<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The Iranian regime&#8217;s strategy for survival over the past four decades has been rooted in two main pillars: internal repression and exporting crises and wars beyond its borders. Its warmongering in the region and pursuit of nuclear weapons are aimed at preserving the regime and deterring a popular uprising. Following <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/iran-protests-2023-nationwide-uprising-revolution-demonstrations\/\">the 2022 uprising<\/a>, the regime intensified its regional warmongering efforts to divert attention from domestic unrest.
