This is happening while, on a daily basis, prisoners in Iran are executed for possessing just a few grams of drugs.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Since last Tuesday alone, at least 40 individuals have been executed, some of whom were hanged for alleged drug offenses.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The oppressed people of Sistan and Baluchestan, who face systemic deprivation and double oppression, suffered immensely this week, as at least 10 of the executed were from this region.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Additionally, in recent days, a prisoner named <\/span><i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Mohammad Amin Mahdavi Shayesteh<\/span><\/i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, who was sentenced to death on espionage charges after a vague and unjust trial, has been transferred to Ghezel Hesar Prison. There is a serious risk that his sentence could be upheld and carried out.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Furthermore, a political prisoner named <\/span><i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Saman Mohammadi Khiarah<\/span><\/i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, who has been unjustly imprisoned for 15 years and sentenced to death, has been placed in solitary confinement in Ghezel Hesar Prison, raising fears that his execution could soon take place.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">In recent days, several prisoners from Tabas Prison in South Khorasan Province and Khorin Varamin Prison have announced in separate letters that they are joining the <\/span><i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">No to Executions Tuesdays<\/span><\/i><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> campaign. They declared they would go on hunger strike every Tuesday in protest against the rising number of executions.
