WASHINGTON \u2014 Today, the U.S. Department of the Treasury\u2019s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) is sanctioning two entities and two individuals for their role in developing and procuring components for sensitive navigational systems for the Iranian military. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Aerospace Force Self-Sufficiency Jihad Organization (IRGC ASF SSJO) and other Iranian organizations rely on these strategic components that are necessary for the production and proliferation of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and missiles. Concurrent with this action, the U.S. Department of State is designating one individual and two entities involved in Iranian UAV and missile development. Treasury\u2019s action was taken in coordination with the Department of Commerce and the Department of Justice, the latter of which\u00a0charged and helped coordinate the arrest<\/a>\u00a0of one of the individuals OFAC is sanctioning today.<\/p>\r\n

A 38-year-old Iranian man Italian authorities detained while transiting through Milan\u2019s airport is now being processed for extradition to the US, Italy\u2019s police said Wednesday in a statement.<\/p>\r\n

A US court has accused the man, whose name has not been disclosed, of conspiring to violate US international economic law and of supplying electrical components to Iran\u2019s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps to build war drones, the police said.\u00a0They added that they found in the luggage of the detained individual \u201celectronic components compatible with the crimes alleged by the US court, paper documents of investigative interest and three electronic devices.\u201d The police seized all of these materials and documents.<\/p>\r\n

A college spokesperson said she could not provide details about cases.<\/p>\r\n

LONDON\/DUBAI, Dec 18 (Reuters) – Iran’s Revolutionary Guards have tightened their grip on the country’s oil industry and control up to half the exports that generate most of Tehran’s revenue and fund its proxies across the Middle East, according to Western officials, security sources and Iranian insiders.<\/p>\r\n

All aspects of the oil business have come under the growing influence of the Guards, from the\u00a0shadow fleet<\/a>\u00a0of tankers that secretively ship sanctioned crude, to logistics and the front companies selling the oil, mostly to China, according to more than a dozen people interviewed by Reuters.<\/p>\r\n

The extent of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) control over oil exports has not previously been reported.<\/p>\r\n
