The Swedish representative urged Tehran to cease arbitrary arrests and detentions, comply with Article 9 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, and release all arbitrarily detained individuals.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Ukraine<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> highlighted Iran\u2019s support for aggression in Ukraine, emphasizing the continued use of Iranian drones to kill civilians and destroy infrastructure. These actions were described as violations of international humanitarian law, and Ukraine called on the regime to honor its international obligations, cooperate fully with fact-finding missions, and halt executions and human rights abuses.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">At <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/UPR48?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#UPR48<\/a> \ud83c\uddec\ud83c\udde7<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ESandersFCDO?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@ESandersFCDO<\/a> expressed deep concerns over its human rights record, recommending the following: <br \/>1\ufe0f\u20e3 Guarantee all individuals fair trials, especially in death penalty cases, with obligations under <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/ICPPR?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#ICPPR<\/a><br \/>2\ufe0f\u20e3 Grant access to <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/UN_HRC?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@UN_HRC<\/a> mandate holders, incl. the special\u2026 <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/0uHZHMHGui\">pic.twitter.com\/0uHZHMHGui<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; IRAN HRM (@IranHrm) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/IranHrm\/status\/1883104241046241756?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">January 25, 2025<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The<\/span><\/b> <b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">United Kingdom<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> criticized the clerical regime\u2019s failure to uphold its international human rights commitments, particularly condemning the violent enforcement of mandatory hijab laws, threats against human rights defenders and journalists, and discrimination against minorities.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Germany<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> voiced grave concerns over the high execution rate in Iran, systemic gender discrimination, and lack of fair trials. The German representative called for the abolition of the death penalty, an end to gender-based discrimination, and protection of religious and ethnic minorities.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Estonia<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> lamented Iran\u2019s lack of cooperation with the UN\u2019s independent fact-finding mission and expressed concern over widespread violence against women and girls as well as increasing restrictions on civil and political rights. <\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">France, Italy, Ireland, Finland, <\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">and<\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> Switzerland<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> also joined in condemning the regime\u2019s escalating human rights violations, including the rise in executions\u2014particularly of minors\u2014and the systemic oppression of women.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">On January 24, Amb.
